I've always really liked Bruce Weber and, despite it not being realistic, I always thought that IF he would have stayed SIU could have been the Gonzaga of the Midwest. He did take a job at a P5 school, but still did his best to do things the right way. I wish him nothing but the best. Based on the interview, he wants to continue coaching in some aspect and it would be incredible, however unlikely, if he ended up back at SIU in some regards.
Regardless, nothing but the best of luck and Blessings to that man.
he isn't coming back here so put it out of your mind. first he doesn't want to. second it would be a distraction to the program. he might stay involved with usa basketball or help out painter behind the scenes but he won't get near this program.
Craving a McBride Special!
Moser's Sooners take down #2 Baylor yesterday. That should put him back in the tournament yet again. I'm happy for him.
Creighton up 29 in the second half on #11 Providence, and just realized one of their sharpshooters is a former D2 player.

But we're too good for D2 guys...

Yeah he was impressive when we faced them. Was a winner all through D2 and this is his 5th year of college.
Selection Sunday starts in 10 minutes. Should be an interesting year!
Selection Show is starting to hit differently the last few years, seeing as to how SIU is 15 years March Madness free and nowhere near relevance.
You know how the joke is you don’t want to be the person picked last on the team?? Well, what about being the person who doesn’t get picked AT ALL because everyone just assumes you’re not even playing?? That’s SIU. Fuck.
#7 Ohio State vs #10 Loyola Chicago in Pittsburgh
#7 Murray State vs #10 San Francisco in Indianapolis
Rutgers?
Rutgers probably deserved it more than a few other teams. Texas A&M probably has the biggest beef with the committee. Illinois has a bad matchup with Chattanooga. They have a couple of good guards and a 7-footer transfer from Kansas.

I realize it's a numbers game but it always frosts my behind when they pit 2 very strong Mid Majors against each other in the first round. That being said, this should be a great and fun game to watch.

Yeah San Francisco-Murray is probably my favorite matchup of the first round. Gonna be a great one. Guessing Murray fans show up big in Indianapolis and steal that one
My annual rant: Make the NCAA an open tournament...not an invitational. Use the top 64 rankings for prime seeding and the rest of the 200 or so teams play them in regional events. The losers go into the NIT and lesser tourneys. Season records, "good" wins, and conference finishes/tourneys have become kind of an excuse for keeping teams out rather than comparison. We're just talking about a couple extra games to find out which team is best at the time of the tournament.
