I really hope Mr. Jackson can raise the bar for the MVC and inspire some calmness, if you will, in the midst of this crazy player transfer and conference realignment period that is the state of college basketball right now. I think that Doug Elgin's overall conservative philosophy of sticking with what's always been is ideal but, as we all know, we live in a "dog eat dog" college basketball world and Elgin's old ideas and views were getting stale. For example, I agree wholeheartedly that the 10-team home-and-away Valley play is perfect, but using that as the basis for staying status quo is going to leave you falling behind.
