Nice to see Scottie emerging. He is losing some weight, which has got to help his game.
I must say that it was not the best start (once again) but second half was better. Scottie has potential. I hope his motivation to improve continues moving forward. Another important piece. I might add that he is a classy individual as well. I knew Hensley would help instantly, and he has not disappointed. It seemed to me that Davis looked a bit lost tonight but did have a big putback late that pushed the lead. X scored the ball per usual, however he seemed a bit slower, especially on defense. I certainly hope it is not fatigue.
7-4 heading into Friday's game vs Southern Indiana.
Should be 8-3, and quite possibly 9-2 but it's college basketball. I'm sure Northwestern Mildcat fans did not expect to get spanked by the Chicago State Cougars after being ranked top 25. However...
GO DAWGS!!!
Would like to see Hensley spell D'Amico and play with Rupert or Ebube maybe a look like Shaw and Falker just maybe
No redshirt for Sharp
I’m certainly not an expert on the bylaws of the NCAA but I thought you could play a certain number of games and still redshirt?
@quatroschallengesaluki I would like to think maybe that was an unannounced punishment maybe. We don' know everything that goes on through the week. Otherwise I agree He should have played against Peay
Sheridan Sharp just burned that redshirt for 30 secs of play. Hope we see a lot more of him.
A head-scratcher. Hard to see a role for him with Johnson and Brown playing huge minutes every night and Miller now showing some life.
I'm betting Sharp will be getting Miller's minutes very soon.
I would have agreed more before tonight. Miller looked much better out there.
Better than what? No he wasn't a disaster every time he got the ball, but
He avoided shooting wide open shots because he knows he can't - got beat on D multiple times. Watson said he played a great game. No Rodney he did not. Not turning the ball over every time does not equal a great game. If Sharp is as good as Mullins says, he'll be getting those minutes eventually.

Wonder if it means not so good news for AJ. Can’t imagine they burned it for no reason
No, don't worry. AJ will be back after Break. My guess is they no longer see Trey as a viable option at PG. Notice how he's been playing alongside Xavier lately. Going forward, I see Sharp as our back-up PG and hopefully Trey can get some more minutes at the 2G. Trent has earned his starting spot, but there's no way he needs to be in there 36 minutes a game.
Troy not having one of his better games.
Hensley has 14 pts in 14 minutes. He's 6'8", mobile, and can score. Really have to question why he has only played 14 minutes.
Hensley’s lack of defense has been noticeable so far but it’s likely he’s just rusty
Or he's simply not a 5. 😉
Yeah, he’s nimble but not exactly a banger. Wouldn’t want to see him defending Brodie or other widebodies in Valley play.

Miller is not an MVC PG. If he can't score at the 2g, not sure what minutes he can get.
Brown made some big threes late but no way he should be playing 36 minutes. Was not productive most of the game.
Need more minutes from Ebube, AJ, Hensley, Sharp, and eventually Hornecker.
Don't know if Stulic is sick or what - he has just disappeared lately.
FWIW, I don't know if we played NDSU Bison in 1965,but I believe we did beat NDU Fighting Sioux in "small college" semifinals in Evansville that year. Seems to me ND had a Phil Jackson then.Brutal game.
We did play them in 1965, Walt Frazier was on the team.
