Who wants to run him off? Might take 6 or 7 years but he will get it done or die trying! He's not a pile of BS like Barbecue and I'm sure he'll work his butt off. No complacency there.

Just drop the "we're young" excuse - simply not true anymore.

Everybody has freshmen. Compare ours to theirs and see how they develop over time.

We're one or two talents from being a top 50 team IMO.

Talent isn't quite there yet, but it might be sitting on the bench.

Ok who are you and what did you do with Woogers ?

posistivy ?

Acknowledging reality is not negativity! I like Mullins and think he will get it done..but not there yet obviously. If you listen to his postgame, he's not making excuses about youth. In fact, after MoSt he said these guys know we're a different team this year and we expect to win these games. Just looking for better, more consistent execution!

Also think UNI has a lot of talent and is starting to get it together after a so-so pre-conference.

I won't be surprised if we beat Drake or Loyola. Seems like Jones is getting his mojo back.

@class-of-69

He made 4 of 6 - not great but not awful. When he doesn't play with that aggression (as in the 1st half), we don't have much chance against a good team unless somebody like Verp is out of their mind.

Facts

if Diptwat was still the coach Lance  would likely not of come. It was a complete dumpster fire probably worse than what Bruce took over.

the support for that idiot astounds me

Don't think there's any support for B***y.  He had us in a place where we could beat the bad teams and couldn't compete against the good teams.  I think we're in a better place now, I don't think a Barry team would have beaten Colorado or Butler last year.  The question is, how much better of a place are we in?  We'll find out the next 2 years.

The way Lance Jones is shooting FTs, I would say SOME of his drives are ill-advised. At times he is trying to thread the needle when there just isn't any wiggle room and any time you are doing it to "save the team" then maybe your strategy needs to be re-evaluated. That's my crap and I'm sticking to it.

It looks to me like Lance is rushing his ft's and kind of herky jerky. He's a good shooter. I just think he needs to take a breath and slow it down a bit.

@saluki82

There's a balance between being overly aggressive/rushing and letting the game come to you. In my opinion, it would greatly benefit Lance and the team if he could consistently find his comfort level between the two.

I don't think many people are aware just how much of a large percentage of the game of organized basketball comes from the neck up. There have been many gifted athletes out there that never even get a shot because of this.

Diptwat!  I like that.

It's one of the few descriptors that gets by the censor list... so far anyway.  😊

I think a lot of Lance's issues are the result of dealing with the turf toe.  Hard for anyone to estimate how much that affects him even game to game and half to half.  He is struggling but is showing that he is a true warrior.  You can watch his face and get an idea of how much effort it is taking him to do the very best he can.

I agree, Lance is 100% playing through pain.  Turf toe keeps the toughest athletes in the world like NFL players out, he could easily be sitting out with it but he's out there playing.
