Can they make it 3 in a row?

Probably not…end of thread 😂. I hope they show up and keep playing like they have been, but I think with our lack of a post presence we are going to struggle guarding them.

If we double the post, they have shooters that will make us pay. Just feels like a terrible matchup for us. I hope they find a way, but I’m not going to hold my breath.

It is a hard matchup. Hutson is the best big man in the league and Southern doesn’t have anyone who can handle him 1 on 1, so I think they’re going to have to double the post and live with giving up more good looks from 3 than would be ideal. At least there’s a chance they don’t shoot it well whereas Hutson is pretty much a lock to go to town/get Hensley in foul trouble without extra help.

Of course Southern having a rare, hot shooting night could help balance things out. Would love to see Steffe knock a few in and get Dibba switched on for closer to 40 minutes.

Why not 3 in a row? Time to give the Panthers a beat down.

Anyone watching Purdue-Oregon on NBC?

They just showed a clip of Creighton at Southern in 2004 when Painter and Altman were coaching.

That was awesome. Nice flashback.

12-4 SIU at the under 16 media timeout.  Really good start for the Salukis.  Hensley and Steffe have 5 each.

17-5 SIU at the under 12 media timeout.  Guess we aren't getting a graphic on the broadcast tonight

Offensive rebounding is the one negative so far.  UNI with 6 to SIU's 1

they're not shooting great, partially thanks to our defense

We've looked significantly different since the start of the Belmont game.  Nagy gave up defense to Hawkins and it looks so much better

SIU 33

UNI 15

Halftime

Davis leads scorers with 10.  Great half for the Salukis

yeh this team has improved enormously starting with the Belmont game. Offense, defense, intensity, energy, will to win.

Whatever Nagy's doing is working. We're 38 - 38 against UNI. Like to see 39 - 38. You know they'll probably make a run.
