Steffe is playing with so much confidence. Good sign going forward
Man this is an ass-kicking. Got to give credit to Nagy for not having this team quit when they easily could have.
For sure. After getting our butts kicked 4 times in a row, this team has played like they're possessed. Huge improvement when these guys could have folded. Good coaching by Nagy and crew and great attitude adjustment by the players.

This is the team we were all expecting to see, obviously prematurely so.
We're not going to be as good as we had all (ridiculously) hoped, but it seems we're not going to be as bad as we had all thought a mere two weeks ago.
These guys are starting to look like a team.

Well that was impressive to see; I didn't put much stock into beating MSU twice, but this was a nice win. Maybe this team is starting to gel a bit.
I wonder why saluki4life hasn't weighed in lately.

SIU was #251 in KenPom after the Illinois State game. They're now up to #192.
What an amazing job by coach. This is unreal. Would really love to see how they look against a Murray team that looks improved, too.
I’m almost too stunned to speak more. If Steffe is building confidence and the defense can play like this…
Bow Em
After such a resounding victory over a team that has been the source of so much misery for SIU in recent years, I might have to join anyone who opens the champagne tonight. And looking ahead, Murray State at home looks very winnable.
Apologies if this has been reported, but I noticed Massey did not play. Was that an injury/illness or a coach's decision? It seems his playing time had been dwindling over the past few games.

Massey was in at the end in garbage time so guessing it's coach's decision

It's a bit more difficult to root for failure when the failure ceases to exist.
Very, very good to see the team playing as a team. Gotta give credit to the players and the coaching staff. Hope they kick Murky State’s ass on Wednesday.

Massey has had a rough season. Aligbe has as well, but he’s a freshman with more upside. I’m glad Aligbe is getting those backup minutes at the 5 and if he can tighten things up a bit, that will be another element in this team’s resurgence.
Not that this is anything to celebrate, but SIU is now in a five-way tie for the 7th through 11th spots with Illinois State, Valpo, Indiana State and Evansville. And well clear of the Bad News Bears in the cellar.
