I appreciate Nagy humbly asking the fans to come back. He acknowledges that quite a few left because of the embarrassing product on the floor and lack of effort. I’m excited to be there Wednesday, and hoping that Nagy can continue our PERFECT conference record against Murray State since they joined!
@kyle_saluki_17 I agree it was nice to hear him say what he said. Both players also mentioned feeding off the crowd. I hope there is a good crowd Wednesday, especially the Dawg Pound. We will be there.
I'll be honest, I gave up on this team. I'm not a frequent poster, but I lurk. I'm typically very positive and can see the good in most of the teams situations. Over the last 10 years I've barely missed a game, following in some capacity, usually watching if I can. I live in Northern Illinois and I rarely make it to games. I went to the New Years game vs Evansville and have never been more disgusted by what I saw from this team. I quit following. Cancelled my plans to travel to the Illinois State game and have only checked scores at half and end of game. I'm not proud of it, but I could not handle whatever that was against Evansville.
I have continued to watch Nagy's post game. I'm still trying to learn about him as a coach. I'm ready to jump back in. Everything I read makes it sound like the effort is there and if that's the case I'll love watching this team. I'll be watching again when Murray comes to town on Wednesday. If it goes bad feel free to lay the blame on me.
When I lived in Northern Illinois many moons ago and my son was just a child, I took him to an SIU Redturd game in the Ashraf Amaya/Marcus Timmons era. Good, disappointed crowd watched the Salukis kick ass. Thoroughly enjoyed that game.
One thing that I think is very obvious about Coach Nagy is that he is flexible, something that was previously sadly lacking I think. Things weren't working and the effort wasn't great, and he just changed up completely and really began utilizing his assistant coaches. It's great to utilize Coach Hawkins and his many many years of experience coaching. I really think that bodes well for the future.
