National TV game for the Salukis.  Would sure be a good time to end the losing streak.

Filewich is trending towards a breakout game; if he gets the ball down low he is extremely efficient and almost a guaranteed two points.  In my opinion, the offense needs to flow between Jones and Filewich until Domask is back; if those two can be the focal points of the offense, that should open up looks for others.

We won the first half yesterday so that was encouraging after the Drake debacle; hopefully the guys can storm back and get back in the win column today.

I like the idea of feeding Filewich when he is in; make teams double him (he is too strong for any UNI defender) and hopefully open up the 3 point shot.  I also liked giving him 4-5 min runs at a time like last game so he keeps his wind and doesn’t get himself into foul trouble (0 fouls).  I feel like Jones decides what he is going to do with the ball irrespective of the defense, which is a big no-no in my book, especially from a point guard.

I've been saying the same thing about Jones since last year.  That being said, his decision making HAS improved and he is so incredibly talented that when he further improves, he is going to be an ALL MVC player by his senior year, if not next year.

Agree on Lance - he can be an all-league player sooner than later if he can cut down on his turnovers; he has taken over games and shown he can be the best player on the floor, its' just a matter of putting it all together.

Agree also and have been saying the same thing. Very talented, but needs to share the ball more often. Some people do not like this discussion point.

March on triumphantly!

This team should definitely be playing inside-out basketball. Anything that collapses the defense usually equals good results. This is a very good shooting basketball team if we can consistently get our shooters in positions for higher percentage makes. There's no better way to do that right now than playing through Kyler. He's too strong for most to defend one on one, and he's proven capable of finding open players and hitting them with nice passing.

I actually also really like Jones penetrating and breaking down the defense. I just think he'd be much more effective and a lot less turnover prone if he focused more on the drive and kick aspect of his game instead of over-penetrating, as he often does.

I also think Dembele deserves more run. Good things happen when he's in there. Its time to really open it up and see what we've got with him.

Unfortunately, similar to last year, the season has took a dramatic turn, leaving us searching for bright spots and moral victories.   I myself have jumped on this bandwagon.  Today I'll be looking for Harvey to possibly D a little better and score 15+ (leading the team).  I'll be looking for Jones to make quicker decisions and dish the ball while minimizing the TO's.  I'll look for Verpl. to continue to grow more comfortable at the D1 level.  I'll look for the continued development of Banks and Filewich.  Heck, I'll even look for Sembele to play more minutes and increase his contributions.  Brown might have another one of his hot shooting games and give us 12pts+ as well.

I don't see this team losing by double digits today (which they've done in 5 of their last 6 games) and instead give UNI a real run for their money.  And who knows, perhaps they can sneak away with a win here.

Go Dawgs !!!!!

Agree he needs to cut down on the turnovers. Does pretty well most of the time but then has that game with way too many. I'm sure he gets the green light to slash to the basket and most of the time that's a good thing. Often that leaves open 3 pt shooters and he makes the good out-pass sometimes. Sometimes he makes some pretty amazing in-close shots. Sometimes however he takes unmakeable shots when the middle is just completely jammed up. His judgement will hopefully improve.

I disagree that he doesn't share the ball enough. Think he does a pretty good job passing off. There are times, like at one point in the 2nd half, he decides he needs to take over the game. You can see that he's going to try to score it. Usually he Does need to take over the game at those times because the offense is sputtering, especially when there's no Domask, or like late last season when Domask was completely out of gas and not contributing (or double teamed).

Thought he made some nice passes to open shooters yesterday - they just didn't hit the shots very often.

Also think his shooting has improved this year, especially FTs - 77%.

Right now SIU as a team ranks last in Scoring, 9th in FT %, 8th in FG % in the MVC. Defense even worse.

I don't think less Lance would be a good thing!

I'd like to see more of Dembele too. He's physical and needs more playing experience.

Davanzo can't bang with the big guys!

We have 4 or 5 players that shouldn’t be playing D1 basketball. That’s my honest opinion

I'm with you SW.  Thankfully, there's a soccer friendly on in 45 minutes. (US v Trinidad & Tobago)

If you're gonna reply to me in the forums, please quote what I wrote that you're replying to so I have a clue...thanks! 😀
