It's Senior Night at the Banterra Center and I'd expect there to be interesting developments involving which players are honored. We might get some clarity about the future of the program on Wednesday.
In terms of the actual game, SIU desperately needs wins to avoid Thursday. Northern Iowa has been struggling lately but was able to pick up a road win at Missouri State on Saturday.

Do we know which of SIU’s seniors will be participating in the senior night ceremony?
I’m curious too. Which players are out of eligibility after the current season?
Supporter of the Fab 4: Scottie Ebube, Foster Wonders, AJ Ferguson & Cade Hornecker.
They’re the ones that can get us where we haven’t been in 15 years.

Newton for sure, possibly Muila (I'm still not 100% based on medical redshirts).
Domask, Jones, Xavier Johnson, and Brown could all possibly return with the COVID year.
I’m trying to repair my give a damn right now
@siudawg Wouldn't player who has completed a degree and is "graduating" participate in the ceremony? Even if they intend to exercise their COVID year? I don't know the criteria for participation in this event.

I hear ya, and I'm sure you're not alone in feeling that way. Sunday was an especially deflating loss.
That said, this could be the last home game for some very notable Salukis, and certainly several very hard-working ones who have represented the program extremely well on campus/in the community. I hope they get an appreciative crowd and a bounce-back W.
oh I get it and I will be watching every minute. I support them all. Sunday just crushed my spirit for a few days

I think it's been somewhat of the Wild West this last year or two with the gray area of extra COVID eligibility, and it's probably not been done very consistently across the country. For kids who know they are out of eligibility, it's pretty clear-cut that they'd participate, but for guys who either are planning to play another year at the same school or are not yet sure what they're going to do, they'd be less likely to go through the ceremony.
It can be messy, which is a shame, because the closure/proper senior night sendoff is often a big deal for kids and their families.
Muila is out of eligibility. I am 100% certain of that. The 4 players you mentioned have the option of an extra covid year. Some, or all of the 4 eligible players may not have made a decision regarding if they are coming back or not. Therefore, I would expect SIU to honor all seniors, even if they have the option to return. I would expect Muila, Newton, Johnson, Brown, Jones and Domask all to be honored on senior night.I’m curious too. Which players are out of eligibility after the current season?

It's crazy to me that these players can come back. A little part of me wants to see some turnover on the roster and get some fresh blood in the program. If Domask gets another season he will easily be the all time leading scorer. Which is unfair to the others that only had 4 years on the court.

If Domask isn't back next year, SIU will very likely be a bottom 4 team in the Valley. I'm really dreading the day that Domask is no longer a Saluki. I hope it's after next year. Domask has masked (no pun intended) a lot of problems with the Salukis over the past 4 years.
SalukiWorld, I agree. Most of these things are self inflicted. 1) Ebube should be getting more minutes 2) Mullins should give up on the small lineup 3) Rest Domask a little more 4) Wonders should be playing over Trent Brown. I'm worried some of these players will transfer because of playing time. ex. Ferguson

One caveat there is Domask missed most of his sophomore season with injury.
I don’t love the five years of eligibility myself in terms of the effect on the underclassmen but it would be hard to feel great about SIU’s near-term prospects if Domask moves on with how little PT the younger guys have received this year. And it also would be tough for Southern given rival programs such as Drake and Loyola, and likely Bradley next year, will have been strengthened substantially from extra-year veterans if SIU does not get the same benefit.
We shall see.
I'm jumping ahead, but plenty of floor seats still available @ UIC Sunday, it would be fun to pack the court.
Saluki Insider? I barely know her!
