On a more timely note injuries and illness seem to be having an effect on the depth of this team anyone have any updates on Brown Harvey or Jones any credible info would be appreciated
Anyone that was doubting Verplancken's ability to play D1 should stop now. I will be the first to admit while I thought we could win, I had a feeling a lot of things needed to go our way. And here's the thing, we won and I don't think that was close to our best performance. Go Dawgs!
he had games like that last year - if he would just do it more consistently that would make us a much better team .. but nobody shoots 70% every game
Right now, I think our best lineup is; Jones, Verplancken, Coupet, Domask, Muila. That should and probably will be our starting lineup at some point in the near future. Banks, Filewich and Brown (when healthy) could change that, but I think their skill-sets are better served in the 'second wave' within the current composition of the roster.
I'm not a fan of Jones and Banks starting together. Right now, Banks doesn't offer enough offensively and I think Jones is at his best when he starts the offense with the ball in his hands, even though he's not a textbook true point guard. Banks was very good last night calming the storm while Colorado chipped away at the lead.
This was a very nice win! There will be many more of these to come with this group. They would be 3-0 right now if they hadn't completely lost their collective marbles against the UALR press.

If Verplancken maintains his level of play this season, and Kyler gets back to the his offensive efficiency level from last year (which we all fully expect as he was near automatic down low), then look out. Last night's game was a great example of how good this team can be when a third scorer is present - that really takes the load off Lance and Marcus, and then opens them up once opposing teams realize that Steven will burn them. Really impressive seeing him improve this year!
Time to get Northeastern and then either Colorado State or Creighton!
