Wow - we just suck so far! Too much time at the beach maybe??

I think Marcus should claim sun poisoning for his lousy game.

The excuses are flowing freely tonight.  My goodness.

And this isn’t directed at anyone in particular.

This was a bad loss.  This team hasn’t looked good in any game so far.  We were fortunate that Colorado played very poorly after getting up 12-1 Friday.

And Domask making several more shots doesn’t change the outcome of this game.

Instead of losing by 12, we lose by 3 or 4.  Still  unacceptable.

Not a bad loss but a bit disappointed in the final score. NU is an excellent defensive team, they're big, and they were picked to finish 2nd in their league.

As far as looking good, that's as good as I've seen this team play on defense. No doubt we have not put a complete game together.

I do not agree with this. We played outstanding defense tonight. This is the best defensive team SIU has had in a long time. Our offense is another story. If we can find our offense we have a chance to be pretty good, IMO. Northeastern is a very good, long athletic team. I also think we would have a chance to beat them on any given night. Our lack of depth is really hurting us, and hopefully that will change if we ever get Brown and Harvey back. I think you are selling the ceiling for this team short. They can be good if they get healthy and improve offensively.

On the subject of redshirting, thanks to Google, there was a story this summer on si.com ( https://www.si.com/college/tmg/mark-blaudschun/college-basketball-redshirt)  that the NCAA was discussing changing the redshirt rule for basketball to more match the rule for football and allow players to play 6 to 8 games in a season and still be able to use that season as a redshirt year. Now, I don't know if this was ever enacted as a current rule so it may not be the case, as of yet.

Watched the game tonight and here’s what I came away with:

1) Northeastern is a solid mid. Predicted to finish 2nd in the CAA. They are long and really solid defensively. I don’t think we were ready for that level of tenacity from the tip. However, we adjusted to the style of game and really made a good run.

2) Offensively, we were able to get a couple good looks inside that didn’t fall. Domask is not in rhythm. Muila missed some easy shots. It was a nightmare. I’m chalking up a lot of the offensive miscues to NE’s aggressiveness and just some awful shooting luck

3) Defensively, like somebody mentioned earlier, we look really good on D. I’m excited for when we get fully healthy.

I hate having to face Creighton as the 3rd team in 4 days. They’re always a team that plays a deep rotation, and our guys looked gassed. Oddly enough, this team might come away from this tournament 1-2 and I’ll actually feel BETTER about them from when they arrived.

go dawgs

Craptacular.

Don't stand a chance with cr8ton.

At the risk of pissing off Jabman again, I'm going to agree with you.  Creighton is going to clean our clocks tomorrow.  But I'll still be rooting my ass off for the Dawgs!  😆

I will too but it's so disheartening.

Someone mentioned body language earlier.  They are correct.  It was bad.  I don't know if it was disinterest or confusion, but the body language was bad.  I think we are really missing Brown.  I'm not at all sold on Harvey until he proves he can play here.  I think Colorado State would give us huge matchup problems, too.

@rockin-dawg D'Amato has only played in 2 games a RS is still possible

Nope.

Straight from the NCAA website: However, if you play in even one second of a game as a college student-athlete, you are not a redshirt.

Is it just me, or are we taking a lot of 3s without being squared up and in rhythm.  Also it seems we take too many 3s very early in the possession without trying to work it in for a higher percentage shot.  I can understand it more if someone is hot, but that was not the case in the 1st half Friday and the whole game last night

Northeastern absolutely taking it to Colorado State, 36-20 at the half!

I really thought Northeastern played SIU better than Colorado & Creighton.
