Very interesting!! It would be fun to watch a few more 2019-2020 Saluki games!!
Would be good experience for the young guys but given how gassed guys like Domask have looked in the last few games, it might be better to save the $$$ and let them rest for next year. But I trust Mullins and the staff here to determine that especially since Bryan won the CBI with Loyola as an assistant.

Between some of the players looking fatigued down the stretch and the urgency of the spring recruiting period, I'm inclined to agree. But, if they want to reward the kids for overachieving and pursue it, I totally get that, too. I do think it would be more of a reward than any meaningful steppingstone, though. In general, I don't really care for those non-NCAA/NIT postseason events.
Is NIT completely out of the realm of possibility?
Yes. No big non-con wins and will finish no better than 4th in the Valley.
The CBI, which Loyola won in 2015 has a $50,000 entry fee per team.
The CIT looks like it’s around $30,000 per hosted game
I'm about 50/50 on this. I'd support it either way. It'd be nice to quickly shift the focus fully to the spring recruiting period ASAP, but it'd be cool to see these seniors go out with an extra game or three. I think this group is vital in that they all played key roles in what's truly, finally a turnaround for this program. We'll remember them fondly for that. It'd also be a chance for Domask to stat-pad in pursuit of all-time SIU scoring status; if he's interested in things like that.
To hell with it though, just make this a moot point and win the damn Arch!
--Insert something witty here--
Absolutely NO to the CIT and CBI. They are not real tournaments and prove nothing. Get a head start on Recruiting instead.
@rawdog it's a chance to play some teams we wouldn't normally play, and generally speaking at least decent competition. It could add something to the recruiting trail you are so eager for, especially if they go after it and have some success. The cost is low enough to make it a worthwhile pursuit and there is plenty of time for recruiting between now and next fall. Let's cheer on our DAWGS if the team decides to go this direction.
I like the other sentiment though, too. If we win Arch Madness, it doesn't matter - let's hope our guys come in fresh and play out of their minds! How fun would it be to see our entire starting lineup score 15-20 points each 😜
You haven't convinced me! I think most fans consider these "consolation tournaments." Even Barry Hinson didn't set his sights that low. Pass.
