I remember when Latin American baseball players would be late for spring training because of "visa issues." Is that the hold up with Moreno and Dibba?
And also, did someone mention Moreno hasn't been playing basketball that long? If he was one of those kids that played lots of soccer before growing into basketball, that's a promising sign that he will have good footwork in the post.
Not sure on Moreno but I’m pretty sure Dibba is in Carbondale and was in a picture they posted.
Jarrett's turn with Luke.
A REALLY good interview in my opinion. This young man has a very good perspective. He knows how important hard work is but is still cognizant enough to know to try and enjoy it-"the process" (smell the roses if you will) because in a few years basketball could be in the rearview mirror but, God willing, LIFE will still be in front of you. Keep these interviews coming. I love it.
Luke's chat with Davion (I've been looking forward to this one):
"Coach likes to play fast and I'm a person that loves to play fast". I am not saying just yet that this team will compete for the Valley crown (although I do have relatively high expectations), but I am saying they will be entertaining to watch !!! If they can figure out how to play both sides of the ball, I really think we could have a major surprise on our hands.
Really good interview! He sounds like a very mature and smart young man. Can't wait to see him in action this fall!!
You can tell from Mayo/Sykes alone that Nagy put a high priority on bringing in players with good character/leadership this off-season. Looking forward to watching them play

Listening to the earlier podcast with Sykes that was posted (the one where his former high school teammate interviewed him ... kind of a tough listen, TBH), Sykes admittedly had some attitude/maturity issues when he was younger. Hopefully that has lessened as he has gotten older. He can definitely be a significant piece of the puzzle with his athleticism, versatility and ability to rebound.
Assuming Moreno misses most or all of the summer session, does that make it more likely Hensley or Webber end up starting at the 5?
I say yes, assuming one of those guys impresses throughout the summer, unless Moreno shows up in the fall and really shows out. But this is valuable time he’s missing acclimating to Nagy’s expectations and style of play.
In that scenario,I believe we would see Massey or Aligbe( if he doesn’t redshirt ) before HensleyAssuming Moreno misses most or all of the summer session, does that make it more likely Hensley or Webber end up starting at the 5?

I don't see anyone contributing major minutes at the beginning if they aren't at summer workouts for at least some of it. A completely new system with a completely new roster. We need as much time to gel as possible. That doesn't mean they won't find their way in to the rotation eventually.
Hensley at the 5 seems like it would have to be matchup specific. He just doesn't have the frame to deal with bigger 5's who play in the post (think Bradley, UNI, etc.). I think/hope he will spend most of his time at the 4 where he would be a better fit defensively. I guess time will tell.
Massey is more of a 4 just like Hensley. They are both skinny and athletic. So I think he would have just as much trouble guarding a big back to the basket post player as Hensley. As was said, I can see both playing the 5 at times if we want to run and the matchup is right. We would however need Moreno or Webber in the lineup against a big opposing 5.In that scenario,I believe we would see Massey or Aligbe( if he doesn’t redshirt ) before HensleyAssuming Moreno misses most or all of the summer session, does that make it more likely Hensley or Webber end up starting at the 5?
