High Point goes to 4-0 with a 68-65 win over UAB.
If you didn't watch the FAU vs Charleston game, you missed out on one for the ages. Charleston won on a literal last second shot by Brzovic, who scored 39pts (edited thanks for ReSaluki 88) and had 13rbs. A great game to watch if you get a chance.
I think you had a typo, he actually scored 39 points tonight including the game winning 30 footer at the buzzer in double overtime. He also had 34 points against South Florida, so his 27 against SIU is his lowest scoring game so far. The FAU team they beat tonight beat Indiana State by 33 points in the first game of the year for both teams. If you didn't watch the FAU vs Charleston game, you missed out on one for the ages. This non-conference schedule is going to end up being even tougher than we anticipated. Obviously the two power conference teams, and Florida just whipped Florida State. High Point is the best they’ve been that I can ever recall. Charleston is a load. La Tech (opening matchup in MTE) has double-digit wins over UMass and UT-Arlington.
Should help with the metrics but obviously you have to win some games. Certainly need to beat a decent NDSU team at home on Monday.

Hope we pound NDSU since they have treated us very rudely in football over the years!

When the non-Valley portion of the schedule (including the Florida tournament) was finalized, I figured a 5-6 non conference record as a possible outcome. Actually, I wouldn't panic over that as the schedule should toughen SIU up for the Valley, where nobody seems to really be tearing it up so far in the preseason (although I'm not crazy about starting conference play against Bradley in early December). If we defeat the teams we're supposed to defeat -- no losses to Florida Tech or Southern Indiana, please -- and play everyone else tough, I'll still be encouraged. Austin Peay on the road and High Point at home will be challenges, but they're certainly winnable if this group progresses.
