Just put it on my calendar as Gainesville is only about a one-hour drive for me. In fact, there's a sizable contingent of Salukis in my area (which includes metropolitan Orlando) and I wouldn't be surprised to see a good SIU turnout for this one. The Gators' arena seats about 11,000 and a typical nonconference crowd for them is about 7,000, so seats will be available.
Florida is going to be really good next year. They return 6 key players including their 2 best players from last year. They also got 2 big time mid major transfers from Chattanooga and FAU. They are top 25 for sure and may push to be top 10. Were a 7 seed last year in the tournament.

I have family that just moved to that area and am already making plans to be there. If they do end up playing Florida Gulf Coast too in Fort Myers, that would be a really fun week.
Garlic and Goat at the Top in Gainesville - ruins your breath but yummy! Also Flacos for yummy Cuban food and tacos! Spent some time in Gainesville.
If still hungry and have the time, head to The Crab Plant in Crystal River for some delicious stone crab claws with white mustard sauce and shrimp, fresh off the Gulf!
Almost forgot we're talking about basketball - LOL.
Gators will kick our butts. Anyone who expects our team to be good right away is dreaming. I love the recruiting Nagy has done, but it's going to take a long time for our guys to jell - could be pretty good late in the season.
Being a completely new team, I'm OK with playing Rolla. Just be glad it isn't Ohio Dominican!

Not that I expect to win in Gainesville, but I don’t think it will take long for some of the team’s athletic traits to show up, especially defensively. Guys like Davis, Dibba, Mayo and Sykes will not need two months to be disruptive defenders.
The offensive rhythm likely will take longer to build.
Don't forget Florida brought in this guy as well. Would be fun to see him if even for a few mins

Rated No. 21 in the updated ESPN Way-Too-Early top 25 that just came out, although I think they have the potential to be considerably better than that.
My 2 cents on the restaurant scene: Spurrier's Gridiron Grille provides a sports bar experience, and there are a few pretty good barbecue spots in the Gainesville area.

I am looking at going to. I have two weddings just prior, which may put a dent in my funds, but if I can swing it, I will try !!!!
Wait! What I posted on Friday, a full 48 hours prior to the news breaking was right? QuatrosSaluki have I PROVED my knowledge yet OR do you need more?
Love having you on here. Makes this message board better.

If you give me the lottery numbers, I'll give you half of my winnings. LOL
It's a mid major MTE in Ernesto FL. Wright State was in it last year and blew out Illinois State to finish 3rd, so coach Nagy is very familiar. Since we play at Florida on November 22 I would imagine the team will stay down there. It's about a 4 hour bus ride.
