The sloppiness on offense is tough to watch (yes, I know Loyola is great on D).
Another scoreless first half from the starting 2-guard.
And Harvey looks overmatched more often than not.
Harvey is a complete mess right now and it's not encouraging that he's gotten worse as the season has gone on. Maybe it's COVID or maybe it's the level of competition. SIU really needed someone other than Jones to step up with Domask gone and you'd think Harvey would be that guy.
Level of competition.
As I've said before, this team is going to have to do a lot of hard work this offseason if they want to be competitive against the top of the Missouri Valley next season. I think people think Domask, Muila, Wonders, Ebube, D'Amico are gonna come in and this thing is gonna jump to a contending team. I don't really see it especially with players around the Valley returning. I think even a healthy team next season is around the Thursday bubble again unless there's some major improvements.
That's a fair point. But that's a lot of potential young talent coming in. With the exception of D'Avanzo & Muila, we'll have all Freshmen & Sophomores next year. And we should go about 12 deep, assuming we don't lose anyone to transfer or injury. I'm hoping we realize that potential sooner than later.

Yeah, I'm still high on the future 2 years from now. You hope to see some major improvements next season but even the experience a lot of young guys will get again will be helpful going forward.
D'Avanzo is putting together another good game. His 14 is keeping SIU in this game.
Loyola 50
SIU 45
7:10 left
Lance Jones has been money down the stretch for SIU. He leads all scorers with 19. SIU has a shot here.
Lance Jones is carrying SIU and they lead with 5:06 to go
Football upsets No 1
Baseball is 6-0
Softball is 9-0
Basketball upsets No 21???
If this happens, I’m digging around for that Ozzy CD....”Flyyyying hiiiigh agaaaain!” 😎
With D'Avanzo and Filewich in foul trouble, I'm expecting a lot of Krutwig down the stretch
This would be the first time ever football and basketball both beat a ranked team on the same day
just sayin
Man SIU had 2 shots at loose balls and couldn't get either and then Loyola hits a 2 at the shot clock buzzer
Let’s go Dawgs, pull off this huge upset!
Jones fouled shooting a 3. Made the first 2 free throws to tie it with 1 more to go. 21.2 left.
Loyola uses their last time out to ice Jones’ third FT. Let’s get it and play tough D!
SIU 56
Loyola 56
OT
Jones missed the 3rd, Williamson misses the game winner. 5 more minutes.
This is a fun game to watch!
Jones with a career high 30 and counting
