Can we NOT? Can we JUST ENJOY THIS. PUH-leeeeeeeease????
Can we NOT tell other posters what to think? PUH-leeeeeeease??? 😉
It was a passing thought is all, partly poking fun at my pessimism. And not a completely insane one.
But I apologise if it seems I was trying to rain on the parade.
I am enjoying the ride! We're in second friggin' place more than halfway through conference play!!

Maybe I’m ignorant, but I do NOT see him leaving this place unless it was a big, big job. I dunno.
It's not going to happen anytime soon. He doesn't have a resume big schools are going to crave yet. He's gonna need a lot more experience as a head coach before anyone worth a damn is going to call.
Just enjoy the ride.
And when he does leave Brendan steps right in. No worries here for at least 7-8 years

That is a good point--hope it plays out that way. (Actually I hope Bryan never leaves!)

Way to go Dawgs!! About 700 miles away from Carbondale but about to book a flight to stl for arch madness!
Koolaid sounds more and more appropriate. I am wondering how to get tickets to Arch Madness, any info about meet ups planned there, etc. Best way to move forward? I am about to buy tickets.
WOOF!
I know absolutely NOTHING...…...just ask my wife, but I don't see coach Mullins going anywhere. I completely understand that this is SIU and not a power conference job, but THIS IS HIS SCHOOL. So, again while I know a lot less insider information that most here, I honestly am not concerned about him going anywhere. At the very least I'm not going to worry about it for a couple years.

Those high major jobs don’t come along every day. If SIU makes some type of good run the next few years, he’s gone.
Nobody is gonna pass up the type of money and opportunity that one of the major schools can provide.

I won't argue that he may leave for a high major job, but I will respectfully disagree when you say about "Nobody". There aren't many, but there ARE people out there who take a discounted contract for personal reasons.

Ben Jacobson did; I think Bryan has the same type of character.

His mentor literally just turned down a huge opportunity in March and he has a Final Four on his head coaching resume.
As I said before, I love Mullins and what he’s doing this season is amazing but he’s not on anyone’s radar right now and won’t be until at the very least, he makes a Tournament. Just enjoy the ride.
I have wet dreams thinking about what Bryan Mullins could have done with Jeff Early, Sean Loyd, Jalen Pendelton, Tiel Daniels, among a few others.

Mamadou Seck would have fit in so well with the current team.
