It's not really age discrimination.
Will be so happy when the covid era players are all graduated. There is nothing entertaining about watching guys in their mid 20s just refuse to leave school.
Kind of baffled by some of the laziness with passing. This team doesn’t seem to match Nagy’s energy. I think he’ll be able to get a squad that matches his personality in future years.
High Point is gonna be a problem. Would love to see some passion from somebody on this squad more regularly.

Enjoying any win we can get because with how we have looked this year and conference play starting soon, there probably won't be too many W's left lol
Hensley can’t make anything close
Probably unfair to O'Brien, but I think of him a lot when watching Hensley. If Sean O'Brien had been a better FT shooter and could have made even half of his bunnies, he'd be one of the all-time greats.
(Cue the "If my aunt had balls" comments . . .)
True. Sean was All-Conf even with the mediocre shooting. His FT shooting drove me crazy because he had sooo many opportunities.
You know, you also thought Xavier Johnson was a POS. so there's that.
Huh?? Not me! I loved XJ - wish he had one more year..but some Big 10 team would have stolen him with their deep pockets.
Oh Jeez--sorry!
That was meant as a reply to Spike's comment about Hensley!
(Inflammatory political snark)
With no returning starters and 11 new players added to the team, nobody is expecting a miracle finish. But I am expecting to see some improvement and for SIU to put a competitive team on the floor. Losing to Bradley by over 20 points should have been a wake-up call for the staff and the players. Obviously players are still finding their roles (or rather coaches are finding what roles work best for the players). If we end the season at or above .500, I will consider it a success. Anything post season will be a icing on the cake.
SIU has certainly caught breaks these past couple games with key players out for USI and Peay.
As Nagy has said, for this team to be any good, especially without Elliott, they need to give great effort defensively. Sounds like that was mostly the case yesterday. Need to keep it up and be able to bother better teams with defensive grit to be competitive the rest of the way.
memorable broadcast, I will never forget how atrocious that was, just impossible to watch
Nagy and the coaching staff need to start pushing these guys. There’s talent on this team, but the effort is inconsistent at best.
Road wins are difficult to come by. I must add that the game should not have been close at the end. Must be smarter in taking care of the basketball. However, I will take the win and continue to anticipate improvement as we move forward.
"In Nagy, I trusty"
GO DAWGS!!!
Among his other attributes, Elliott looked really good from the FT line early this season. Another area where he’s sorely missed.
The replay on ESPN+ is flawless. Go figure.memorable broadcast, I will never forget how atrocious that was, just impossible to watch

Happy with this win, Had a comfortable lead most of the game. Made some mistakes late that made it a closer game. I think Sharpe will gain confidence with every game. I think he can be a solid point gaurd with game experience I'm not sure they can overcome the poor freethrow shooting, it will definitely cost them some wins if the poor % continues. The last 2 wins were teams we lost to last season, time to see how siu can do in the valley, I'm hoping for above .500
