Final
Filewich had a nice game.
The advancement and diffusion of knowledge is the only guardian of true liberty.

Dawgs shoot 10-34 in the second half, including 2-13 from the arc.
Toss in 13-22 from the FT line for the game, and that equals another mediocre loss against a team that any solid team would wipe the floor with.
May be a coaching issue when there are no set plays for the #1 player or others. The offense is just a wing it type.
Also, can coaches teach free throw technique?
Only positive, Lance looked like the old Lance.
quick cuts and drives to the basket, good from 3 (but not great at FT line)
19 pts, 6 RBs (led team), 2 assists, 3 stls, only 1 TO. 58% shooting and 3 for 5 from 3.
KF and DAmico played well too.
I just don't know if it's possible to flip that switch next year and suddenly beat the good teams you haven't beaten this year. SIU has 1 quality win this year in Colorado and the rest are all the dregs of college basketball and honestly, only looked good against SEMO and Southern Miss.
I have three problems with where we are; firstly, I don’t go into a single MVC game feeling confident we can win. Second, we are fundamentally poor in so many areas. Free-throw shooting for example … is simply embarrassing. It’s FREE FRIGGIN’ POINTS! And finally, we are getting beaten by teams who should be further behind SIU in the rebuilding process.
I find myself missing the fire that Bryan’s first year team showed. It’s been absent since then.
--Insert something witty here--
This team should be 3-6 going into next week. Just gonna have to eat this year. Hopefully nobody leaves. Sounds like the guys are close to one another, so we should be good. Obviously need another special player to compete and I have zero clue how they’ll get one. Just hoping everybody sticks around. It’s about to get rough.
Bow Em
We had some "very open" looks at the arc; they didn't fall.
Sad. Sorry guys, maybe next time
p.s. Practice the free throws
We have had several really good halves this year - still haven't put together a complete game. Maybe when Loyola comes to town, that happens.
We played them very tough last year and LJ was killer. We can beat them in C'dale. Everyone has to be on!
The rebuild is gonna take a while.
Gotta go root for EIU Jimmy to beat the Cheesehead Peckers!

Love the Salukis, but until they take free throws and layups seriously, I can't t take this team seriously.
Seriously.
March on triumphantly!
7th place and back to back against Loyola coming
The rebuild is gonna take a while.
Rebuilds generally don't take that long in college basketball. Coaches get deservedly fired after 4 years all the time. Mullins didn't take over a worse situation than B***y did and he had his best team in Year 4.

I don’t think there’s any way Mullins gets axed after next season no matter how mediocre the Salukis are.
And barring some good transfers, or the two redshirt freshmen being real strong out of the gate, they may just be average again next year.

He also got an extra year (through 2025 now) because Kill bolted before he coached a game.
