It is easy to be negative after a bad loss. The thing is, look at our last 14 games or so, overall have been good. Bradley hasn’t looked all the great lately in my opinion. I’m scared of this one, but wouldn’t be surprised if we win. Let’s do it!
They’re winning games but I wouldn’t say they’ve played well. From the Alcorn State game on, they’ve gone 12-2 but have dropped from 103 to 117 in KenPom. The wins are what’s important and they’re not getting an NCAA or NIT at-large but I’d be a bit worried about what this means going forward since KenPom is usually an accurate predictive tool
Some people have ideas for lineups and combinations that might lead to a victory and that is spectacular but this team that starts and the rotations that have changed at times depending on game situations has been pretty successful the last 14 games so I believe if the Dawgs come out focused they have a good chance to pull out the victory and if I remember correctly the starting 5 for the 2007 sweet sixteen team started a similar sized lineup and they were quite successful because the team now plays a similar style
With the caveat that 6'7" Randall Falker was the MVC Defensive Player of the Year and a great jumper, shot blocker, a good FT shooter his last couple of years, and rebounder...and a bicycle enthusiast like me! LOL
We play TD at the 5 and Rienk Mast will score 40.

The question about the diversity of scoring/scorers was a good one and, despite the typically positive response from Mullins, very much remains an open question/key to the rest of the season.
I think we'll get smoked at Bradley. I hope to be proven wrong.
I believe the Dawgs will pull out a close one in Peoria.

I genuinely do not mean this to sound offensive, because I’m not trying to take a shot at you… Metrics and NET, and KenPom and all those things annoy me. There is no context, there is no film… take the 3 games before conference in Alcorn, and Chicago state, Mullins was giving equal playing time to our bigs. KenPom and NET give credit for blowouts, which is fine but SIU and the MVC doesn’t play a style that leads to many blow outs. I know these predictive tools have their place, but I just don’t care what they say. The fact is this is an extremely competitive team in an extremely competitive league that the metrics really hate because the league as a whole really struggled in non conference… but when the leagues best players were poached by the likes of Missouri and Kentucky the November struggles are not a surprise, and they are likely to happen due to roster turn over year to year.It is easy to be negative after a bad loss. Until Southern has a true statement game, I agree. We have won this season with smoke and mirrors. Not what I was expecting this season.
By "get smoked", you may need to do that after the game if we lose. 🤣I think we'll get smoked at Bradley. I hope to be proven wrong.
Bravo. Well said. By the way, Murray beat Bradley. Murray is undersized.I genuinely do not mean this to sound offensive, because I’m not trying to take a shot at you… Metrics and NET, and KenPom and all those things annoy me. What does this even mean? Smoke and mirrors meaning defense and clutch free throw shooting? You don’t win 9 conference games by luckI think we'll get smoked at Bradley. I hope to be proven wrong.

How are you defining a "true statement game"? A win at Bradley would not be better than our true road win at Oklahoma State by any metric.
It's not smoke and mirrors in a season where you beat Oklahoma State, Murray State, Indiana State and Missouri State on the road.I think we'll get smoked at Bradley. I hope to be proven wrong.
