Filewich only had 2 points but he got some key RBs and had a nice block while playing some good D in what I want to say will be his most minute so far.

Great win! Now we have to hope Butler turns it around and has a solid season so that that win will look even sweeter 😁

Brown and Domask were great but Filewich was seriously the unsung hero in the first half.  So many huge minutes, especially on the defensive end.

SIU gets their 2nd top 100 Kenpom win of the year.  At least 2 more chances with Loyola coming in at 55.

He also had the most awkward spin move I have ever seen late in the game lol. Like, he basically had a straight line to the hoop after but was so shocked that move worked he just passed it off.

Rough 2nd half that turned into a nail biter. Glad we got the win in spite of the refs trying to exert their will on this game.

F### AJ Graves and go Dawgs it's going to be a fun year!

Saluki Insider? I barely know her!

Well, I pulled my hamstring watching SIU hoops. Gave myself a cramp. Had my wife tell me I was yelling too loud. Folks, it’s just like 2007.

I would usually take the time to critique X,Y, and Z...but I think this win was so big for so many reasons, that I’m gonna stay away from that.

I’ll say this, though:

It is ABOUT DAMN TIME that this team goes into a major environment and doesn’t lay an egg. So many major opponents routed us over the years. We were no-shows. At Illinois, Purdue, Louisville...but not today.

Take Harvey, for instance. He just couldn’t get in a rhythm. But that didn’t cost the team. Everybody stayed in it. Everybody contributed.

And I’ll give you this on Trent Brown:

Last year my son and I were hanging out before the MVC Semis outside Busch Stadium. Hanging out, looking a little dejected, was Trent Brown and his dad. My son admired how he shut down AJ Green in the first game, and I walked up to say ‘hi’. They were very gracious, really nice, and we wished them the best. He talked about how they felt they were really close to getting it together as a team. It’s really cool to see a kid not keep his head down, but just keep working. And working. And working.

And now? Kids...it’s all working.

Bow Em

BM post game: no moral victories - we think we can win every game we play!

He thought it shouldn't have been that close - missed FTs! But proud of his team!

Love that attitude!

Marcus Domask (player of the game):

We expected to win!  Coach Mullins loves defense - sometimes a little too much! [LOL]

Maybe I need some new shoes [the last minute stumble]

Can Filewich dunk ?   I have yet to see it.  He's going to REALLY need to work on his FT shooting the next couple of years, but he has shown so much improvement already in just 6 games.  I bet he'd kick Garza's butt......... okay just messing around but still.  Great job !!!

Incredible win by this team! You could tell right from the beginning of the game that they wanted it. So much fire and passion from these guys, on the court and on the bench... these guys are absolute winners and will be the team that put Saluki basketball back on the map.

His line in the box score wasn't great, but man was he huge in the paint and carried the first half.
