Baby steps? This is Drake year 3 vs SIU year 2... this is very very concerning.
Compare the rosters. Drake is stacked with juniors and seniors. We’re playing freshman and sophomores. We should take a jump next year.
Not going to kick em while they’re down, but this is rough to watch. One thing to have deficits in athleticism and rebounding and to have a cold shooting stretch, but getting out-toughed and out-competed this badly is not something I expected from this team.
Hopefully this is a low point with some hard lessons learned.

I think the problem is, teams are going to be able to bring back players again next year.

I keep hearing this every year. You have to win games. Period.

Just my opinion but I wouldn't play Domask a single minute this half. He's going to get worn out just like last season. Let him rest as this is a lost cause. Would also like to see a lot of Eric Butler this half. Nothing to lose
We have looked like absolute shyte since the Domask "Miracle Shot" vs. MSU last year.
I'm out.

While SIU will assuredly be better next year, so will every team in the Valley (as long as players return-since they ALL can).
SIU is 0 - 11. The only way SIU can hang with a team like Drake is to hit a high percentage of their 3's, like they did early yesterday). Missouri State looked very good as has Loyola. I haven't watched Bradley live yet but they look good as well. This could be a rough season, unexpectedly.
The VAST majority of us have a "trust in Mullins" approach, including myself, but that doesn't guarantee anything. Simply put, the players have to execute and give 110% on the floor in order to be competitive in this league and win games.
@dawgpoop 1,000% not true
Don’t worry. That is a problem that won’t be around anymore.

They only play 2 games per week, this is a lot different than last season.

I'm guessing you mean in Valley play? Unless you missed the Butler game.
Also, could somebody tell me if SIU is gonna not be short-handed next year? Will we have more than 7 D-I players? It would be nice to have a full roster of D-I players, you know, like a normal program.

D'Amico, Ebube, and Wonders should all contribute next year. Might be more too coming in.
