They do realize they don’t have to shoot a three.
Well, that was certainly a frustrating one
Well, shit. Was bound to happen. Not going to win every valley road game. Sucks to lose with poor defense though. Let a team shoot 11-19 from 3 and 17-18 from the free throw line and you won't win many games.
Really? Southern Indiana? Northern Iowa? Southeast Missouri State? Home against Indiana State? Saint Louis? That is at LEAST 6 very poor defensive games. This was not the "only" time. Pretty much every game we have lost has been due to us having a poor defensive game. Except for the UNLV game, all other loses can be blamed on poor defense. Our home game againse Evensville was a poor effort as well. Thats 7 games.Just remember this was maybe the only time all year that the defense let us down. Just couldn’t get a stop when it mattered.
lol, sorry, not trying to sound like a dick, just saying, its far from the only time our defense hasn't been great. lol@quatroschallengesaluki okay, thx
On to the next game!!
That overturn was bullshit. You can't overturn that based on that video.
I agree - when I looked at it 2nd time, I thought it did come off the Turds but hard to tell. It's supposed to be incontrovertible evidence and sure as hell wasn't. These refs were full of shit all day, calling body fouls on us and not calling squat on some of their serious fouls like D'Amico getting slammed and damn near breaking his leg.
Knight and Lewis got 16 FTs, Domask 0 - that's bs because he was unquestionably fouled inside while shooting more than once -- no call.
Still say Machesney was a flagrant. I've seen guys called for flagrants when they rebound with their elbows up - Brown got elbowed right in the nose then slammed down.
They shot 58% from three and made 17 of 18 FTs. Hard to lose when you shoot like that.
Once again, like the INSU loss, coaching played a huge part in this loss. With no big in there, they scored a lot of inside points they probably wouldn't have in the last 5-6 minutes.
Rupert played only 10 minutes.

Bad loss
Yup. Bad loss. How the hell do you lose to a sub .500 team? Don't care if its on the road or not.
"The bureaucratic mentality is the only constant in the universe." ~Dr. Leonard H. McCoy
Ingredients for a loss: 1. Switching man defense vs a team that posts up. 2. Small lineup leads to big losses. 3.Minimal use of Rupert and Ebube. 4. Too much Brown and D'Amico. 3. Lots of hurried, early, missed 3's.
Will this coaching staff ever learn?
Illinois State flat out had an answer every time we got something going. Hate to drop this one. Makes the west game at Bradley so much more important. Gotta go get that one!
Domask is a heck of a player!
Let's beat the Gargoyles on Wednesday!
ISU played out of their minds and has been playing really well lately. However, I do think Mullins should have had Muila in for defense and rebounding the last 2 minutes, especially the key basket by Lewis to put them up by 2 late. He could have substituted offense for defense and called a TO should we have gotten a stop to sub Muila out so he didn't have to shoot FT's. Going small hurt us late again!
