SIU heads to snowy Normal on Sunday to take on the Redbirds.

The Redbirds have been an up and down team this year losing to #290 Tennessee Martin to open the year but also have quality wins like at #117 North Dakota State and at #127 Murray State.
Illinois State has been battling injuries this season. They've been without North Dakota State transfer Boden Skunberg and former Illinois transfer Brandon Lieb all year, wouldn't expect to see either in this game. They were without Chase Walker last game who has been a force inside for them, no word on his status for this game. Johnny Kinziger missed the UIC game on December 29th but played in their last game against Murray State and played 31 points.

ISU Game Notes
I’ve watched a lot of ISU this year and have been impressed with the way they move the ball. They’re shooting it much better, too. And Walker is maybe the most improved player in the league (not sure if he’ll play; they may think this game is so winnable without him it’s not worth any risk).
If Walker doesn’t play (he’s really their only physical big) AND Southern improves its defensive rotations and closeouts, maybe they make this game watchable. Hensley will be a key defensively because Boser and Daugherty are versatile bigs who are dangerous from the arc.
I’ll be watching. Praying for a better performance than Evansville. I want that debacle out of my mind.
