One thing Salukis do well, they bring out the best in our opponents. So they got that going for them...

March on triumphantly!

I don’t know why Sykes is on the floor. They drive on him he’s not there and then there is no help defense. Damn I miss the days of Mullins, Tatum, Young, Faulker, and Shaw.

What's amazing is how this team can't make FUNDAMENTAL baskets. Free throws, layups, wide open treys, you name it. Perhaps Nagy should get them to the eye Dr.? Something's very wrong here.

March on triumphantly!

https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/schools/southern-illinois/men/1981-schedule.html

this team won at memphis and was able to lose three conference games by less than 10 points.

im genuinely wondering if this team won’t just not win another game, but if they’ll lose any games by less than 10.

Great judge of character this coach is.

Murray State getting ready to beat Drake in Des Moines.

Indiana State, with a new coach and roster, beat Evansville who dismantled SIU in Carbondale.

I don't care if it's year 1. Nagy should be on the hot seat.

The hot seat and fired are not the same thing. But if there isn't noticeable improvement by next year and year 3 year 3 should be it.

It's starting to look like a really bad hire.

I've tried not to be too against Nagy but I will say...hiring a guy who openly says he doesn't like or feel comfortable using the portal seems like a very strange hiring decision by SIU. Especially since he isn't young either.

That is a typical SIU administration approach.  They hired BH just because he WOWED them in the interview. Plus 10% of the profits from his BBQ sauce.

Nagy has a better shot of retiring than getting fired after 3 years with his contract

  • @spike I agree and if gets too hot where do you get buyout money and then where do you go for a hire

Nagy had been floundering at Wright State.

Since the portal really kicked in along with NIL, his teams were 36-29(23-17). He has openly talked about how he doesn't like using the portal. And he was 58 years old.

I genuinely don't understand their thought process.

The university cannot afford to fire Nagy until after year 5 period.
