I mean SIU will be a big drain on a teams SOS and NET and a loss against them would be a bad loss on a postseason resume so...he's probably right.
New strategy, I will coach the team for 100k a year, and a truck, that would open up 500k for players.

If we keep losing by 30 every night, teams will love playing us. We're like the low-major team high-major programs like Iowa State and Illinois play to win by 60 and help their NET.

there is no hot seat. the AD who just fired a saluki legend and went on a nationwide search to hand out a $3M contract to his replacement is not going to call another news conference and fire his guy the first year. I mean, even by our standards, how stupid would that look?
Mullins fired for not competing with top couple teams in the league , so we hire someone that can’t compete with any teams in league .
it is hard to believe this guy was hired , with the comments he has made that would lead one to believe he doesn’t embrace the portal.

Our two best players (by far) out, this is about what I would expect. Still haven’t kept a conference game within single digits.
Disappointed to hear there were issues with KD…I was already preparing for his departure, feels like his fate is pretty much sealed at this point. I just don’t see how next year is going to be any different. I guess they’ll make sure they have a few shooters on the team this next time around. Feels like a big roster rebuild is on the horizon for a coach who doesn’t like doing it via the portal.
Leonard and Nagy are tied at the hip, so he’s not going anywhere anytime soon, unless Leonard gets canned or Nagy retires.

I don’t know if Nagy is going to work out, atrocious first year, but I do think he gives a damn. He has an odd way about him, but I do think he’s a competitor.
And I don’t miss Hinson one bit.
