Great game's by XJ and Trent. Much better game by Hensley. His defense was much better and he can be pretty dynamic on offense. Ferguson played a good game too. Big steal to seal the game, he played good defense and smart basketball even though he only scored 6 points. Rupert had some huge boards in the 2nd half and D'Amico had 5 assists. 1st time the Redturds have lost in that building all year!
I’ll take Trent Brown killing the Redbirds for $200, Trebek.
All kidding aside, what a win! Road win in the Valley! Let’s get another Wednesday!

Trent Brown postgame with Saluki Radio:
Did Dan Roan say he's been watching Bryan Mullins play since he was playing for Downers Grove North?
As someone who graduated from Downers Grove South 2 years before Bryan Mullins I demand an apology.
EDIT coming out of the under 16 media timeout in the first half
Just got back from Normal. Always great to win there. Trent was terrific: don’t think SIU wins without his marksmanship tonight, even with ISU shooting like crap until it was too late.
A great chance now to get to 4-1 in Valley play leading up to a Saturday home game with Drake.
Great win! Big game from TB…needed someone to knock down open shots from 3! It’s even better it happened against the Redturds. Need to go kick Valpo’s butt and set up a big game against Drake!
Side note…a couple folks seem to be pushing for BM getting an extension. If he’s able to keep this team top 4, I think he’s earned it. Would sure help some with recruiting.

I think it is time. He has put aside the worries of us sucking without Jones and Domask. Give him an extra year or two and see where it gets us. Yea Johnson will be gone, but good programs will always have good/great players graduating and we will always worry what we look like without them.
With the way the transfer portal is, I don't really see the coach's contract being all that relevant anymore in the recruiting process. That being said, Mullins has shown the improvement and growth as a head coach to where I would personally be in support of extending him.
The program is ultra clean, respectable, hard-working, and high character. He seems to have developed a culture where the players thoroughly enjoy being around each other. So much easier to support than the previous 15 years or so. He led us to a very strong season last year with 23 wins. Despite the enormous roster losses, the team not only weathered it, but has seemingly improved.
The high level defensive coaching has always been there. My perception watching this team is that Mullins is also starting to hit his stride as an offensive coach. With the right type of personnel in place, his offensive system seems to be pretty effective and a major improvement from his first few seasons. Of course, how much of that is thanks to X remains to be seen, but overall I think Mullins has earned the benefit of the doubt.
I still scratch my head on some of the roster management decisions at times, but overall, pending the remainder of this season, I think Mullins has done a really good job. He's the type of guy who is so intelligent and hard-working that he's going to keep grinding and trying other methods until he figures things out. I think the first 5 years of his tenure have shown signs that he's doing that. I'm having more fun rooting for the program this year than I have in a LONG time.
What are we - the Big 10? Crazy to give coaches an extension because of one big win. Evaluate after the season. Should always be that way.

Hensley was much better. There was a while though when he was in at the 5 and their big was in there while Ebube sat on the bench. Didn't care for that.
Really think Ebube could have helped us with more than 5 minutes.

I thought he deserved one after last season. So after seeing how this season has gone, yes, I still think he does.
Who would rather have coaching someone who seems to be adjusting or another rebuildWhat are we - the Big 10? Crazy to give coaches an extension because of one big win. Evaluate after the season. Should always be that way.

I'm more open to an extension now but Domask & Jones being good Big Ten starters right now looks really bad on the staff. I do think that changes are being made after last year though so maybe they've learned from it. I still worry about what this team looks like without X though next season.
