Sadly, I did not expect a win, but did expect a competitive game. Sycs guards were very good, that we could not contain. However, we never go zone, so we got exposed time and time again. Once again, a lot of standing around and watching on offense.
Positives:
1.) SIU student section much better
2.) We're getting a new scoreboard at Banterra
3.) It's still football season in the Dirty Dale

Could not agree more. Also, Miller does indeed have a quick first step. Hoping this is the start of better things to come for him this year. As I've said ad nauseum, I was hoping he would be a key player for us.
Miller played well - showed some offense. 7 points in 13 minutes.
Just an awful night when no one could shoot it well...30.4% doesn't win many games.

I went and checked, and as bad as this one was, it's hard to believe there have been at least ten other games with a worse margin of defeat.... so nope, this stellar effort won't crack the list.

As i have stated in previous years. if there was a statistic for "possessions without getting off a shot", SIU would lead the nation. This looked so much like the last 3-4 years of scared to shoot wuss ball. Just effn sad.

I cannot believe grown men get so upset at the people they are suppose to support. I will support Mullins and the team until there is a change. This was very disappointing, but embarrassing? I think not! It is basketball! The only reason I subscribe to ESPN plus is to watch Saluki sports and I will continue to do so. Go Dawgs
I think the biggest concern is the lack of a future right now. Even in Mullins' first 2 years they had Domask & Jones to sell something. A coach potentially on the hot seat could easily sell incoming high school recruits as a reason to stay...Mullins can't even do that here. X will be gone next year and with another portal whiff this team is in Lowery territory.
