We are 4-4 in the mvc on the road. Would love to win at Drake and end with an above .500 record on the road in the valley. Great games played by Coupet, Banks, Jones, Domask and D'Amico. D'amico is such a mature player for a true freshman. Great comeback road win. Lets' finish it off with 2 more mvc wins!
I like playing the smaller lineup. We are much better on offense when we push the ball with the smaller lineup. We just need to play better interior defense with the smaller lineup.
JDM only played 6 minutes, KF played 4. ISU outrebounded us by 9 but we had more ORBs.
Dawgs have scratched and clawed their way to 8-8 in the Valley. Not what we hoped early in the season but scratched and clawed are term of endearment for me.
It’s disappointing they haven’t been able to have much success against the top of the Valley but it’s nice they haven’t dropped any bad games in the Valley. If this continues and they start to beat the good teams, this can get rolling
SIU's not good enough on offense to allow a team to shoot 50%+ and still win
Well, they just did it lol
Yeah offense stepped up in the 2nd half and they hit 12 3 pointers. Didn’t think the defense was great today but it stepped up at the end
Reiss keeps saying we are practically a lock for 6. Who are we most likely to play as the #3 seed?
Hers’s my take on LJ…..everybody should be open to being critiqued this season. In order for us to take the next step we need Jones to be better….not physically but mentally. Most of his mistakes are mental mistakes…even the FT problems. Going forward we need our upper classes making fewer mistakes and making better decisions and I don’t think that is being unfair. I’m sure the coaching staff is saying the same thing.

The defense was only great when we needed to it to be great. Ultimately, road wins aren’t about “how” but “how many”. That’s true even of the top levels of the conference which we are hopefully returning to soon.

Likely Missouri State.

Yeah likely whoever loses MSU/UNI tomorrow
You could try to convince me that D'Amico shouldn't spend the majority of the time on the court, but you wouldn't succeed. He just has a feel for the game that you can't teach. I love KF, but he struggles so much in the pick-and-roll, they couldn't use him at all today. Besides, we tend to play 4 people that like to drive (Jones, Banks, Coupet, Domask), so he clogs up their space. JDM is a nonfactor on office, which isn't to say that D'Amico is dominant, but he can do more things and certainly stretches the floor better.
TLDR: Lineup from here on out: Banks, Jones, Coupet, Domask, D'Amico.

The winner of the game between UNI and Missouri State tomorrow most likely finishes 2nd with the loser likely finishing 3rd. It's in Frostbite Falls. Go Bears as I would rather play UNI in the 3-6 game.
I like Mo. State to win that one and I would rather play UNI just cuz I want to beat them worse than the Bears.

Ugh.. Anyone but MSU please...
In fact, if SIU gets knocked out early, I think best case for the MVC's post-season hopes would be for Loyola to meet Missouri State in the final at the Arch and for MSU to win.
That would likely mean 2 teams in the dance, and honestly, if SIU can't make a miracle run, I want to see Mosley, Prim etc on the big stage this March. If they put it together, they've got the talent to make a run to the sweet 16 or better with the right match-ups.

I like the small lineup, but it would depend on matchups. You couldn't play that lineup effectively against MSU when Primm is in the game.

We one 4 of our last 5 MVC games. Why change the lineup if D'Amico can produce off the bench? He is a nice insert. As the saying goes, it's not who starts the game that matters, etc....
