This season is gonna be a wash and next year is probably gonna be a wash too. It's all about how the team and the coach can grow as the year goes on. My guess is this team is gonna get more and more competitive as the year goes on.
Seems pretty clear that Bryan is coaching with a first priority to see what he has and what can develop over these first ten games or so. Even so, if Cook hits his free throws and Suggs hits the side of a barn, we would have been in this. Every one of our guys played. I saw a brief flurry from Trent Brown where he stopped thinking about playing and just played. I think that is why Bryan is giving him so much time on the floor. Francois is coming along. Gooch is just a question mark. Dembele shoots like Shaq. Jeremic is ... .. . .
I went to the game last night and thought the energy was really good on the court. Was good to see Dembele get in although he's kind of a bull in a China shop lol if he can smooth out his moves a little, I think he'll be a real defensive force in the paint and can probably score some points down low.
Really hope Cook didn't break something - doesn't look good.
Saw Mr. Cook out and about today, didn't see anything out of the ordinary.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Ben Harvey is going to be a stud in the MVC. Between him and Domask being a year older and our guards maturing as well, I definitely don't think next year is going to be a wash. I think a full year in the Mullins "system" and getting Harvey on the floor (along with assumed big spring recruits) and I say this team is ready to make a mark in the Valley next year.

Benson will be tough to replace. Hopefully we can sign someone who loves eating rebounds for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

God I hope this season doesn't kill recruiting. That's really the only thing I'm worried about.
Although there is a positive here in that the younger guys are gonna have to make an impact right away. Might do them well going forward, but might not be fun to watch for awhile.

I agree with you there, I'm excited for Harvey. I just wouldn't expect much outside of maybe avoiding Thursday next year. Not saying that like it's a bad thing. This is a total rebuild and it's going to be fun (and tough at times) to watch them grow.
I would flat out bet you right now, but I'd prefer to wait to see who else this staff gets in the Spring before doing so. I think Jones , once learning to play under control, can be an absolute stud in the MVC, so him along with Domask, Harvey, Francois and hopefully Brown will get some help from the newbies and this team will surprise you and others.
Eric McGill injured ligaments in his left hand after playing in 10 games of the 2017-2018 season. He received a Medical Redshirt for that season.
Is it possible Aaron Cook would qualify for a Medical Redshirt after playing in 6 games and 1 exhibition match this season? Especially since it is being reported that Cooks injury requires surgery.
Six weeks out could put him back in the games around January 2, 2020 if he has the surgery this week. It could be possible that he would only miss 1 Valley game on December 30, 2019 in Terre Haute against Indiana State.

That's a damn shame. I thought he might have been okay since I saw him out without a wrap or anything on either hand Wednesday afternoon.

I doubt that anything would kill our recruiting. Unless- Mullins loses his drive and shows up at recruiting targets after doing a four day bender with six day facial growth smelling like the inside of a Long John Silvers bag.
