I'm pumped to see what Clarence Rupert can do for this team. He put up 11 points against Purdue in March and I guarantee you he wouldn't have transferred to SIU if he didn't think we could make it to the tournament. Rupert saw some of the best of the best last year and I think people underestimate our talent and our depth at Oklahoma State. ESPN analytics show us a 14% chance to win. I call foul.
I like the fact that Trent Brown started Monday. He may not start another game all season, but the kid has worked hard, faced some adversity with injury and earned that start. Loyalty should be rewarded when it can be. The fact that SIU's bench scored 51 points should tell us that Mullins could probably put 11 names in a hat and come up with a starting line-up that would compete so I will not be surprised, as others have said, if Trent doesn't start. Either way, barring injury, I think we will see Trent Brown have the type of season this year that will surprise a lot of people. Also, I had a laugh seeing 5 SIU subs entering the game at the same time. "A line change", Reiss called it. It reminded me of when Arad McCutcheon used to do that regularly with the Purple Aces. I expect a lot of ball pressure from OSU and a tough battle on the boards. Winnable game and it will be a great experience for our guys to play in that atmosphere. Kudos to Mullins and the schedule. I know some don't like the 2 for 1, but until we are a Gonzaga, those power 5 schools aren't gonna be to eager for a home and away series with us.
I am optimistic and sending positive vibes for tomorrow. OSU will display intensity/pressure from the very start. They have five, four and three star players. I want to witness our Seniors MD, TB and LJ play great vs this BIG12 opponent. Position and use bodies and fight for rebounds. Stay competitive, and give yourself an opportunity at end of the contest. In Coach Mullins we trust.
Heard some positive news on future recruits...the future of Saluki basketball is indeed getting brighter.
GO DAWGS!!!
The game will be a true barometer of where we stand. A loss will give us a good idea of how far down the top of the ladder we are, a win will be a confidence builder and a confirmation that Mullins has the pieces to have a special season. I hope OSU has a big noisy crowd and the Dawgs pull off the upset. Either way it is going to be one of the highlights of the season.
Chance to avenge the 2005 2nd round loss. That team was good enough to make the S16.
A lot of the bettors on Twitter are picking the Salukis at +8 or +8.5 or they're taking the under at 135.5
Somewhat related to the game tonight, I just listened to Reis' interview with Hinson. That was a great listen.
Hinson had mostly good things to say about Southern. Makes me like him a little more after listening.

this is a middle of the pack big 12 team. Besides their center it is nothing really special. To take the next step SIU has to have this game. Bryan knows it. I’m calling the upset. Dawgs by 5
This is the biggest SIU basketball game we actually have a chance in since 2008 my friends. GO DAWGS
I actually thought of driving to Stoolwater to see this game. It was just a little far from Dallas, so I pussied out.
