When's the last time we beat the Billikens? Been a while. I think they think they're too good for the Valley - would love to whip them!

They whipped Evansville by 18 and Murray and Tenn. St., beat Memphis, gave Auburn a game, but got wiped by almost 30 by #22 and undefeated Maryland. (#16 Illinois at Maryland tonight)

They have two really good guards - can't let them shoot open threes.

Hope Lance has his stealing mojo tomorrow.

Glad Rupert has been to the big dance and faced some big 5s. He won't be intimidated. But yeah, he and D'Amico sure could use some help.

Beat them 12/5/18 in Hinson’s last year at home 61-56.  That was actually the one year they made the tourney under Ford.  A rare quality win in the Hinson era.

I was at that (very) rare quality win. As I recall, Thik Bol was swatting Billiken shots left and right.

Bol had 5 blocks in 13 minutes and added 6 points and 6 rebounds

KenPom has Saint Louis winning 71-63 and Vegas seems to take their spread most of the time so guessing Saint Louis is favored by 8, 8.5, or 9

You were right: opening line -8.5 SLU

This is always a must win game for me since I've lived in St. Louis for 44 years and grit my teeth at the mention of a Billy-kid.  Ive seen some stinkers here as well.  It will be a tough place to win because home cooking will be in open display.  This group can beat SLU but as others have said...everyone needs to participate.  None of these periods of 3-6 minutes without a score.  Hit em hard and fast and rattle them from the beginning and we got a chance.  If not hang close and "Tatum" them at the end.  I always loved the looks on rivals faces when he would nail them near the end of the game.

They whipped Evansville by 18.

That game was somewhat closer than the final score indicates. The Billikens didn't take the lead for good until about halfway through the second half.

SIU may not win the game, but Mullins will undoubtedly outcoach his opponent Saturday.

UNI beat SLU in the NIT last year.

Our defense will show up. Not concerned about that, but we will need to match their physicality and rebound at an elite level.

We'll also need to take good shots with confidence when we have them, regardless of when they show up in the shot-clock. I'd like to see Lance start the game by attacking the paint every chance he gets and let that aggressiveness set the table for himself and others from deep later on.
