SIUe just beat Saint Louis. I'm not sure we're better than them at this point.
We are one of the best FT shooting teams in the country, and shot 77% tonight, if you are wanting better than that, you are dreaming. lolGutsy win against a regional rival. However, need to work on press breakers, and those free shots from the line. SEMO had some luck at the end, and some refs helping some too.
Ugly W but we move to 9-4 as we head to break, with a big MVC game at Murray on the 29th. For those folks who keep predicting losses for the Salukis, keep it up because you haven't been correct all season! LOL
GO DAWGS!
SIU is down to #120 on KenPom, down 30 spots from opening night. SIU finished #125 last year.
Do you know what the number after the score of the games means? Its usually in the 60's or 70's, tonight it was 74. I can't figure that number out.SIU is down to #120 on KenPom, down 30 spots from opening night. SIU finished #125 last year.
KenPom...isn't that the discount brand of toilet paper??

It's number of possessions I think during the course of the game
For all the talk about bigs these past couple months, I stand by my biggest concern being guardplay. Really good, championship-level teams get consistent floor leadership from their guards, half to half and game to game. Does Southern know what it’s going to get night in and night out from Johnson, Jones, Banks, Brown?
These guys play hard … not questioning their effort, but the guardplay has to be more solid and reliable if the Valley schedule is going to go well for this team.
I'm wondering if Xavier Johnson got hurt or he did something to get benched. Only 13 minutes from him and didn't play at all down the stretch.

I think they just liked how Banks was playing and they also like Newton on the floor. A little odd they didn’t have him out there as another ball-handler against pressure late.

I have to agree. XJ physically disappeared in the 2nd half and Jones statistically did the same. Brown simply doesn't add enough offense and is a gritty defender but too short to be a true stopper. Banks is a decent bench guy but isn't a good enough shooter and turns the ball over more than he assists. And you forgot Newton on that list. Jones is a senior and is supposed to be an All Valley player, therefore I feel he should be counted on to be a CONSISTENT scorer and shooter. I know he ALWAYS defends at a high level, and that is huge for this team, but at this point in his career, we need more.

This team is awesome 😎 semo was way underrated. Greatest victory in SIU history time for a Mullins extension we are 9-4 4 game winning streak against four power house schools. Can’t believe it . We are a shoe in for an at large bid

That has to be wrong. Reis said we have played a much tougher schedule this year. It ranks 8th in the Valley going into the Semo game and they were 274 which will help right?
