UIC has been the surprise team in the Valley this year. Sasa Ciani missed the last game with an illness and is day to day.
Three of the next four are on the road with Drake being the home game, but even beyond that, the schedule is very tough over the next eight games, considering the home games are against upper-half teams.
Either Southern is going to have to sustain a higher level of play like it had against UNI or the losses are going to pile up in a demoralizing way. Picking off road wins against Valpo and Evansville look like some of the best opportunities.
Massey has them by 2.5.
In the pregame show, RW just brought up the difference in physicality between Horizon and MVC with coach Gibbs and asked "were you surprised by the physicality of the MVC"?
Of course Gibbs inferred they were NOT, but the answer kind of says "yes"
As usual a great line of questions from RW
Let’s get some payback today. Tough stretch of games. I feel like this game will tell us a lot about how that is going to go.
UIC unconscious from three to start, silly/lazy turnovers from SIU.
Dibba and Kennard are keeping this game close
Teams are just going to keep going inside against us, there's nothing we can do
Jorge in to fix this mess 🦍
Neither team is missing right now. SIU is shooting 65% and down 1
UIC has hit some open threes but they are also hitting contested threes…could be a long game if that continues.
Anthony Booker mention on the broadcast 😑
If we can guard their three, we win this game. I like our energy.
and Steffe hits a three - hope he keeps that going.
Steffe is on fire, 7 straight points
UIC broadcast showing major of the game. I like that. We should do that.
