I think he felt they were being too negative (I could see his point to some extent, but this team was playing awful at the time, so I understood their side too). Then it just became a bit of a back and forth between them.

I'll also admit to not listening to the podcast, so I'm not sure what has been said. But if they've attacked Drew by name in a way that crosses the line, it's understandable that the father would be angry. If it were my son, I'd feel the same way (and for what it's worth, I can't think of anything said about Drew on this forum that has crossed that line).

The podcast is okay, but not great. I tune in every now and then. Pretty opinionated and sometimes bad takes. I remember one of the guys thinking the College of Charleston game was our MTE and was stuck on that, and this was at a time that it was clear that it was a one game, neutral site event. They seem to think that they are insiders, but sometimes don’t know even bits of info that I know. And I’m hardly an insider myself. I do occasionally get an interesting nugget but that’s it. But it’s not horrible. I do occasionally tune in. But Over the last few years when I literally listened to every interview around Saluki Athletics, I did not do the same for that podcast.

I was critical of Drew earlier in the year but think he's played well lately outside of the Murray game. He's a really good playmaker that plays the role of pest on defense, just have to hope his shot continues to improve.
Yeah, I saw it. It must have been Mr. Steffe who was ejected courtside toward the end of the game. The Dawgs podcast made a sly remark, something to the effect of he who shall remain nameless got ejected. Mr. Steffe didn't like the comment and reacted. Not sure why the Dawgs podcast would want to throw shade toward a players father. I like that a players father has enough passion to get tossed!Completely random comment, but has anyone else noticed Drew Steffe’s dad and the Dawgs podcast getting after each other on Twitter?
It appeared to me Mr. Steffe got into with fans sitting behind him, whom were upset with him standing up a bunch of times. Mr Steffe is at most home games and this is common of him when in attendance. It looked like most fans sitting behind him were UIC fans and on the older side and didn’t like him blocking their view. If it happened as it appeared, I do not blame him one bit.
If you watch the replay of the game it happens…I believe during the Mayo play. Court side/camera side bottom of the screen.
Didn't see that but I did notice some guy in the first row standing up most of the game. Really rude.
Last year we had great seats for the UNI game but the guy next to me - must have been 6'8" - insisted on sitting on the front edge of his seat. We could see nothing at the far end of the court unless we did the same thing. Rude as hell actually.
As far as Mr. Steffe, I know nothing about him or his situation but having coached Little League, softball, soccer, and kiddie basketball, I can affirm that many parents are loony toons when it comes to their child and sports. Usually dies down by college except for nuts like the father of the Lonzo and LaMelo!😜
