well hey, it wasn't pretty at the end, but we are 2-0 in conference, and both are road wins. I'll take it.
Welp, a win is a win. I guess.
I think I’ve come to terms with what this team is and lowered my expectations considerably.
Having Muila in the game at all when it’s that close late is just a foolish move by the staff.
That game shouldn't have been that close but SIU is 2-0 in the Valley and both on the road. Like the Evansville game (which felt similar), we will take it.
Muila should never be in the last couple minutes of a close game. (not that Filewich is a whole lot better)
He creates a lot of lane violations because the opponents are so busy slobbering over the coming miss, they don't notice their foot over the line.
7-16 from the FT line can't happen, and only 2 of those were Muila.
Nice to get the W, but that was some bad execution the last 7 minutes. It should not have been close.
Here’s to never seeing Muila shooting FTs with the game on the line again.
Really lucky to win that one. Our free throw shooting is going to continue to be a major problem, particularly if Lance can't get his act together on them. He is just throwing it up there right now.
Dalton Banks! This is the Dalton Banks we were hoping to see. Congrats to him for really putting things together and getting going. if he can keep that up and Troy keeps improving we can make some noise.

Sorry, three misses by Muila. Absolutely cannot understand why this team is so incompetent at the charity stripe. Pathetic. Glad they won though, and any road win is a good one.
Not counting the redo, he still missed three.
March on triumphantly!

Domask was the player of the game with 23 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists. But SIU doesn't win this without Banks. So many key baskets.
As Al Davis always said, just win baby! Great games by Banks, D'Amico, and of course Domask. Jones re-injured his foot and Brown must have tweaked his back, as he didn't play in the 2nd half. Hope they both can play on Saturday at MSU and be productive. I don't think either will be 100% at any point this season. Starting with 2 road wins in the mvc is always very good, no matter how close the games are, and no matter who you beat. Much bigger challenge going to Springfield to face the Bears Wednesday who will be pissed after losing a very close home game to UNI today.
Best road Valley start since 2016 in the 22-10 season when they started 4-0 in Valley play with wins over Loyola, Bradley, Drake, and Missouri State to start Valley play.
Jones also missed all 4 FTs. Nothing much from Verplancken tonight.
Great game by Domask and Banks played great too.
55.6% shooting but only 43.8% from FTs.
Mullins just said Brown wasn't hurt, just limited minutes getting him back in the flow. So, very good news there!
BM: Brown's back OK - just getting back into basketball shape.
First off, nice to see some SIU basketball after all the cancelled games. Secondly, we can't rebound, we can't shoot FTs but we somehow manage to win. Banks is hands down our most improved player. Muila had 10 rebounds so can see why he was in there but as others have said, not in this situation. No Ben Harvey, anybody know why? Two road wins! Marcus incredible.
