I’ll hold off on total judgment until I get to watch the whole thing (only saw the last 4 or so minutes), but man that game was only that close because of all the free throws they missed down the stretch. Domask missed 2 of them!

We’ll find out a lot about this team over the next 3 games. @MSU, Drake,  then UNI. I need 2 of 3 to put themselves in a good position for top 3.

First off, nice to see some SIU basketball after all the cancelled games. Secondly, we can't rebound, we can't shoot FTs but we somehow manage to win. Banks is hands down our most improved player. Muila had 10 rebounds so can see why he was in there but as others have said, not in this situation. No Ben Harvey, anybody know why? Two road wins! Marcus incredible.

Harvey not back 100% from covid.

@goroshnik    Yes and it seems to be predictable.  The next step has got to be finishing the game with some level of competence.  I dont know what we can do about Muila except sit him the last 4.

A win is a win, blah, blah, blah....

Sure, I'm glad we get to put a W by our name.  But make no mistake, we BLEW that game.  I don't care what the final score was.  We must be the worst team in the country at holding a lead.  If I were Mullins, I would look at completely changing our current game strategy for that situation.  Holding the ball for 30 seconds every possession, then throwing up a prayer is a recipe for disaster.  Especially when you have a team that CANNOT SHOOT FREE THROWS.

On the bright side, Domask played great and Banks saved our asses with his best game of the season.  Everybody else should be running laps until midnight, including our Coaching Staff.

Hey Rockin, you forgot D'Amico, who also played a good game. I know it pains you to admit that sir, inside joke........

To the customary naysayers: it’s the Valley, deal with it. Wonder how Rambler and Bulldog fans are feeling this evening?

@rockin-dawg I can't say I disagree with this.  This team is still in formative stage.  We have two squeaker wins against lower level teams whom we should have beaten convincingly.  At times you can see what it could be.  I will take the wins but the schedule is much tougher from here.  Sure would be nice if we could field a full slate of healthy players.

Mullins just said Brown wasn't hurt, just limited minutes getting him back in the flow. So, very good news there!

Was wondering if it was his back or possibly coming back from COVID.  Glad it’s not the back.

Loyola and Drake are established programs now, we’re not at that point yet.  That being said, I’ll take the win.  SIU is 2-0 on the road and it’s tough to win in the Valley.  But schedule gets tougher now.

bobber is going to keep asking this question until he gets an answer.  just like i kept on asking frances santorini why she kept saying no all the time.  maybe rockindawg can help me.

is anyone working with mulia in practice on his free throw form?  i just can't believe they are letting this continue without trying to make some sort of adjustment.  i understand everyone misses free throws, but at least they shoot them in some sort of way that the rest of the world recognizes.  it's one thing to have your own style if it works. practice is for improving, and i keep thinking they are working on this.  but there is no evidence of that.

@resaluki-88

He hit an important shot and made a great pass to Domask.  He also missed an important wide-open shot, let his man go right around him for an easy basket, and failed to box out on a rebound.  But hey- I'll take some good and some bad from a Freshman.  I'm not a hater by any means.  He has potential and does some things right, including great court vision.

So, maybe I give him a pass on running laps and instead send him to a side court to work on that awful-looking, chicken-wing shot of his.  😉

Did you see any other Valley games today??  It'll make you feel like your comment is a bit exaggerated.

No, I didn't.  Were there other teams who blew 16-point leads with less than 10 minutes to go in the game?

Bradley for one.  And they actually lost their game.  Not sure how bad Missouri State's lead was, but they somehow managed to lose with Mosley scoring 46 points or something like that.
