Every once in a while you have a game where nothing goes right...in baseball it’s called a laugher. Breathe in, breathe out, move on.
“The best thing about freshmen is that they become sophomores.”
-- Al McGuire
Teams that play 4 freshman big minutes have bad nights on the road. I am ecstatic that it even matters at this point. Before the year I figured we would be closer to the Evansville situation then where we are. Sadly I think Mo State has finally figured it out and we have a game at frostbite falls. We will still stay out of Thursday which is an amazing feat. SIU. SIU. SIU SIU
Bad game, it happens. Concentrate on Bradley and we will be fine. Go Dawgs!

Agree with this post. This team has overachieved like crazy and was certainly due to lay an egg on the road.
The only thing I’ll say is it would be nice for the bench to be able to provide a bit of a spark on a night when the main guys were off and really needed a lift. Scoring punch off the bench is an area where the roster could use some help going forward.

We should avoid Thursday... But I will feel a lot better once there is absolutely no chance it happens. Get one more win.
ditto.
Win out at home and we're be fine.
beating bU and insu will keep us in the top 4 going to the arch.
evansville will be a bonus game.
road games in frostbite and springfield will be difficult

We set early expectations of continuous improvement from the younger guys and they have done that and more. Fortunately, success has altered expectations. I do not expect this team to win the conference or the conference tournament. I do, however, expect them to come back after this REALLY ugly loss and defend their home court.
1 more win locks up a Friday spot. (Truthfully, we may not even have to win again)... But that is step 1. lock up a Friday spot. If they can win Saturday and Thursday and Loyola can beat UNI at home you go to UNI playing for a share of first. Difficult game, but that is the path. First thing is first though, get the 10th win and ensure you don't play Thursday in STL... The other thing I would like to avoid is a 4/5 or 3/6 match up with Missouri State. no thanks.
Agree with the above analysis regarding a road letdown. This team has been fun and definitely over achieving. My only disappointment from last night was the missed layups and free throws.
Yes, it happens to young teams on the road, but I was flashing back to yesteryear.
Go Dawgs! Beat Bradley!
March on triumphantly!

This season has shown that predicting much of anything is perilous, but with a tough remaining schedule other than the Evansville home game, I'm going to say it's likely that SIU ends up 11-7 (that has them winning 2/3 at home and losing at UNI and Mo State). That would probably be good for top four, but from my perspective, it would be great to finish in the top three and be on the opposite side of the bracket from UNI in St. Louis. The Bradley game on Saturday is big in that regard since that's one of the teams Southern would likely need to hold off. Won't be easy with Childs back for Bradley. Their starting lineup and first couple guys off the bench are pretty tough.
Running the table at home in Valley play would be a big feather in the cap for this team.
