There is the cause and effect factor. Nothing personal, but given that Rodney did this for a living, I'm riding with him.Rodney Watson on In the Dawghouse from an Indiana Pacers game:

Really enjoy Rodney's insights and this is another good listen, but I do disagree somewhat with his premise toward the end that cutting down the rotation to 8 or so guys is a big key to playing their best basketball. The fact is SIU has trimmed the rotation quite a bit the past few weeks (D'Amico, Muila and to a lesser extent Brown are the only guys who have been seeing substantial minutes off the bench), and other than the Missouri State home game, it's been a pretty bad stretch of basketball for the Salukis.

The coaching staff has one mission for the rest of the year and that is to find a consistent offense that can average 70 points or more per game. We can afford to let up a little bit defensively, so whether it's new rotations, new offensive schemes, or simply getting more x% more offensive possessions then they need to do it.

To clarify, I don't think there's anything magic about a short rotation or a deeper rotation: both can work. I was just noting that it's clear going to a (mostly) 8-man rotation has not, to this point, done much to improve the team's play in recent weeks ... I'd say that's pretty apparent.
Whoever plays, hopefully we see an improved performance for the home stretch, starting tonight.

im pretty sure adding 5 points to the offense but giving up 10 more in defense is fairly counter productive

Unfortunately, this isn't gonna happen. At this point in the season, for better or worse, what you see is pretty much what you're gonna get until the end. The staff might throw in an extra offensive wrinkle or two at Arch Madness if the situation calls for it, but there won't be any drastic changes.
I think the hope for the coaching staff will be largely that your upperclassmen refocus and figure things out for the stretch run.

I think Mullins needs to add someone to his staff that sees the game through a different lens. Mullins was a small guard that played tough d, so that's the lens he sees through. But if you're going to trot out 3 6'1 guards, they better be able to knock down shots and you better have a rim protector behind them when they get hunted on D.
It's one reason I think D'amico is important to this team going forward. Need multiple guys that can switch in today's game. Kennard Davis fits this mold so I'm hoping he can contribute next year if Mullins isn't too stubborn to play him.
Lance Jones needs to stick with Kobe King hard tonight. He averages 16, but Drake held him to 13 on terrible shooting in double OT. Need a show-stopping defensive performance.

They’re the ones that can get us where we haven’t been in 15 years.
8-0 start for SIU at the under 4 media timeout. Love to see Rupert involved early, he has 6.
Solid start!
Nice start! Multiple Salukis making great passes to Rupert underneath.
Love that high school gym. On TV, it is like watching from the really good seats!!!
Great D so far.

Lance please stop taking those types of shots with 12 seconds left on shot clock. Besides that, much better start than Saturday.

Both bad threes... Needs to show more patience let the offense develop.
I really don't like Domask and Jones on the bench at the same time.
SIU's lead is already gone. A 5:00 minute scoring drought and counting.
