Trent hits a big 3 in the corner but then loses his man.  Not gonna pull off an upset giving up 80 points.

36 for Xavier Johnson but it's not gonna be enough

At the end of the day this was a good effort. Nothing to be upset about. Hopefully a good learning experience too because we have some good competition coming up. Most likely play NMSU tomorrow. Very winnable game

Can't remember a better performance from a Saluki than Xavier Johnson tonight.  38 points and might get 40.

What a gutty performance from these Dawgs.  I'm super impressed and definitely have more hope going into the conference season.  At the very least, with their D, they can pretty much hang with anyone in the league.

Even with this 33/33 he is a career 76% FT shooter.

What a weird Hill to die on. Johnson can be both pretty meh coming into this year but also good this year.

Moral Victory

  1. a defeat that can be interpreted as a victory on moral terms, for example because the defeated party defended their principles.

He’s done. I’m sorry. That was awful. And JMU is not a Top 25 team.

Supporter of the Fab 4: Scottie Ebube, Foster Wonders, AJ Ferguson & Cade Hornecker.

They’re the ones that can get us where we haven’t been in 15 years.

Loved the effort but also fearful of what happens if Xavier has even an average game.

One thing I think I can take away from this game. We are going to win some games this year. Our bigs got into foul trouble and were a non-factor, and yet we played hard and came close to beating a good JMU team.

We won't always get a spectacular performance like we did from XJ, but most of the time I think Rupert and Ebube will be a factor.

We are going to better than I expected. Just hope XJ stays healthy. Too bad Hensley can't play - I think he would be a big help.

Hope we get Moccia State tomorrow and kick their buns!
