Salukis open as a 9.5 point favorite.

Connor Onion, Mike Trude and John Miller have the call on ESPN+

North Carolina Central, located in Durham, is 2-4 on the season.  They have wins against USC Upstate and Bluefield State.  The losses are to SF Austin, Akron, Louisville and Youngstown.   They have been to three-straight NCAA tournaments out of the MEAC and are predicted to win the league this season.

It's likely to be a low scoring game.  They average 61 points a game vs. our 63 points a game.

The press conference with Coach Mullins can be found here:

Don't think any team should be 9.5 point underdogs against this team without Aaron Cook.  But Vegas knows all.

KenPom has them as a bottom 30 team so it’s probably warranted.  I just have no confidence in who is actually gonna score for this team without Cook

USC Upstate is a D-1 school, but only in the last few years or so.

Young kids gotta step up. Looking for Domask to be slightly more aggressive trying to score.

I am very interested in watching Dembele and Davis debut at home.  With Cook gone for a month or so the kids will need to grow up quickly.   The possibility exists that Lance and Brown could benefit from the minutes they will inherit from Cook.  I am still hopeful that we will be better by conference games and if so maybe surprise some people.  With Mullins in charge I tend to see the glass half full.

Who will step up? I wish Cook were able to play; it sucks to happen during his senior year, but as others have said this will force more playing time on the freshmen which is invaluable for the long run.

This is what is referred to as "a good opportunity."   😊

9.5 is a lot given the injury situation and the likelihood that the game will be played in the low 60s.

@usmcsaluki

I agree that this is an opportunity for Lance and Trent to show what they can do.  It will pay dividends down the road.

If you're gonna reply to me in the forums, please quote what I wrote that you're replying to so I have a clue...thanks! 😀
