I am not going to say SIU will win this game, but I do think they are the better team.
XJ missing FT's, Rupert hitting 3's, cats and dogs living together....... end of the world stuff going on here in Cancun.

I think New Mexico State going to OT was pretty big, they're already pretty short on depth. Either way, SIU is the better team.
Statcast gave those last two 3's both to Davis, announcers said the first one was XJ, i couldn't tell.Kennard is gaining more and more confidence every game. I really think he's gonna be an all-league player at his peak.
I'm pretty sure X hit one in the corner on a pass from Miller. The camera angle is kind of making it tough to see players though so I could be wrong.

I will say this, I like that Davis missed a 3, then from an offensive rebound got the ball back and took another and hit it. That shows confidence and that, in itself, is critically important. I've said it since the day we signed him, if his offense can match his defense, he will be all valley and every game minute played will only make him better.
NMSU is shooting 14.3% but FT's (11-11) are keeping them in this. SIU is also shooting 33%.
If we could guard without fouling we might be blowing them out, 11 of their 15 now are from free throws.
Im really not liking what im seeing tonight at all. We have regressed back to last seasons offense. No presence underneath and just jacking up threes. Not a fan of that style at all.
One of my biggest pet peeves is, and has always been, taking a 3 with absolutely no one near the basket. ALL five players were outside of the 3pt line and XJ fires a 3.
I just went back and it was for sure Xavier Johnson who hit that 3 they gave to Kennard, not that it matters much
Agreed, and that is one of the additional drawbacks of the smaller lineup that we didn't see all year until yesterday.
Also, can SIU please update their commercial to remove the player that did not want to be here and is no longer on the team?
Kennard with 12 points and 4 3's*
9 points and 3 3's
