Gotta love the cutting and unselfish play on display. Some high-IQ ball from the Dawgs. Awesome tournament from XJ, solid role play from D’Amico, Stulic and Brown and a bit of a coming out party for Davis, who has all kinds of upside in his game. If the bigs get back on track and AJ returns to health and form, no doubt this team can exceed expectations.
Don’t love the timing of the Terre Haute trip but I guess we can fret about that next week. Good showing in Cancun.

The Valley is looking good so far despite some stumbles. 4 top 100 teams right now and SIU/UIC are both climbing much higher than they started

Diry, I was thinking that last night. In years past we were "holding" teams to 50-60 points but that was because we determined the pace of the game, slowing it down. This year they've maintained good defense but also have been scoring as well. It's been a fun ride. I hope it continues with the very tough schedule coming up.
It seems that the early season schedule was what was needed to gain confidence and that the new style of play seems to have carried over to Cancun Dawgs played well this this team seems to have a high cieling as long as they stay healthy
Like the movement on offense. We'll be better inside too as long as our bigs don't get into foul trouble.

Stulic looks like a really good addition to the team, and the talented Davis is getting used to the D1 game. He's going to have a great career at SIU I think.

Couldn't agree more. Imagine being Northern Iowa and now not only 1-4 but very possibly can be 1-9 or 2-8 after their first 10 games. After last season's debacle, you would think they would have scheduled easier to start the season.
