Getting AJ Ferguson, his length and scoring ability back will be huge for this team. Arguably, SIU wins tonight and against Austin Peay with AJ. I don't think his value when healthy can be understated. With Hensley and AJ I really like our mix of players and we have more ways to score. With a healthy AJ I like our chances come MVC play. Let's hope he's back healthy soon!

My thoughts exactly. I wouldn't have even considered it before seeing them play, but from what I've seen so far, I truly believe this is the deepest, most talented team Mullins has had.

Now, if Mullins can just stay out of his own way with some of his horrid personnel decisions -- clearly Scottie Ebube needs to be on the floor if he can stay out of foul trouble, and Hensley will be a difference maker. Need AJ healthy and really need Trey Miller to figure it out and take some of the pressure off of X here and there (the talents there if he can get outta his own head, IMO). A healthy Cade would add some nice depth too.

If this team had been whole from game one, we don't have four losses. That's okay, its still early.

As you say, I like our chances.

Good effort by the players, great game. Losing the James Madison,  Austin Peay games probably takes siu out of NIT contention anyway. In the end these games mean nothing other then fan excitement , experience and Mullins keeping his job. It's going to come down to mvc tournament for post season now, hopefully team keeps improving and it works out in conference play. I think they have some talent,  Im still on the fence wether or not this coaching staff can get out of mediocrity. should be expected to contend but man it's going to be tough, good luck! I'm a lifer fan I'll be there win or lose

@spike is there something to that? He can play

I don't care if he came out hot this game.

He is a senior who struggled to see the court on bad to mediocre Cincinnati teams and has averaged 1.2 ppg and 1 rpg for his career.

This is just silliness.

To get an idea of just how bad this take is, look no further than Chris Payton; hardly saw the court at Pitt, nearly came here, and now is basically averaging a double-double for a good Kent St team.

Hensley is a long, quick, athletic forward with range and the ability to beat guys off the bounce. He's exactly what we need and will help us a lot. Its a shame the NCAA held him hostage until now.

chris payton had a long list of off court issues. there was no way bryan was bringing him along on year one to change the culture.

People were complaining earlier that Mullins sometimes doesn't have his team prepared therefore the team gets off to a slow start well I have a different take I believe Mullins has them prepared and ready but  I believe the the team is jacked to play and aren't relaxed in other words they try to hard early instead of just being natural

Precisely my feelings at the OK State game.
