Hopefully, there will be a large SIU presence at SLU. I know the Dawg Pound is attending, so hopefully, SIU will bring some energy as they did at the Northwestern game.
Marcus was great! But they missed 12 FTs - 36%. That's the reason they lost.
We have some talent - now we need coaching to match.
Go Dawgs!

SIU is 2nd in the country in free throw % against (50.5%).
Little Rock: 8-18 (44.4%)
Oklahoma State: 8-16 (50%)
Southern Indiana: 15-23 (65.2%)
Tennessee State: 10-20 (50%)
UNLV: 5-9 (55.6%)
Cal Baptist: 7-19 (36.8%)
Some insane FT luck.
I tend to agree with most of what you post, but on Foster I have to say , not yet. I love the kid and he will have a great career for the Salukis.Clearly he has the best shot on the team, but he is still a defensive liability..Not sure if you heard the radio interview last week but Rodney Watson asked Clarence something to the effect of who was the Saluki player that had the most impact on him and he said Trent Brown. I have heard this from several players. Brown is a apparently one of the leaders of this team. Yep, his shot does not drop like we hoped it would but he is arguably their best defensive player. The reason Trent Brown gets the minutes he gets is his leadership and his defense. Im sure, actually hopeful the day will soon come when Foster can be on the floor 20 minutes or more a game, but it is gonna be an evolution, not an instant happening. Brown is always gonna be in the doghouse with the fans because he isn't a prolific scorer and his minutes will be limited to a certain extent because of that but Foster has a ways to go. He has made considerable improvement but he is not ready to start, not yet..
If Trent Brown is our “best defensive player”, we are in big, big trouble. Next game please watch how easily guards beat him off the dribble. And how little trouble wings have shooting right over him. UNLV exposed this by going right at him every time and Bryan was too stubborn to take him out. That was one of the main reasons we lost that game.
Senior Leadership is a great thing and I’m glad he adds that to the team. In my opinion, Trent’s best attribute is still his outside shooting. But even there, he struggles to get off shots and it hasn’t really translated to much scoring. Having three starters averaging 3 PPG just isn’t cutting it.
Brown as an 8 minute off the bench guy with strong leadership skills would be a plus.
Brown as a 20-30 minute guy scoring around 5 ppg with few assists and rebounds … well, we’ve seen where that’s gotten them over the course of the past four years. And I agree his defense is overrated by some … it’s solid but not great, especially against quality athletes.
Getting Foster more up to speed on defense would be big. Otherwise, Newton and Ferguson getting some of those minutes would be fine by me.
Of course the night my wife goes into labor is a game where we get a good win on a channel where I can’t watch a replay. Is there a YouTube link out there? Anyone willing to give a quick summary?

I completely agree. When Foster came in and almost immediately gunned in a couple of threes - just being really aggressive offensively, I had an inkling of what he could be for us - shades of Milt Huggins, Doug Novsek (now at EIU with Marty Simmons), Kai Nurnberger!
There's a reason he averaged 24 ppg in HS. He's 6' 5" and can really shoot it. Man do we need that!

Quick summary:
Domask had an A+game, maybe his best. Hit a huge 3 after Baptist went up by 4 in OT.
Rupert was good off the bench, including a big basket late.
Wonders and Hornecker both made positive impacts in very limited minutes.
Several guys did nice defensive work on Baptist’s go-to star to hold him well below his average.
Tense, back and forth game. Entertaining, but not as entertaining as a new baby. Congrats!!

Somebody actually posted the full game on YouTube:
I take it this is your firstborn.
Thank you to both of you!
Only game I intend to miss this year 🙂
Finally got to watch this game. My main 2 takeaways:
1. Play Hornecker!!!
2. Find opportunities for Foster.
What a finish by Domask!!
