More of the same. Some serious ‘yikes’ possessions on offense. I went to Loyola/DePaul today. 90x better than this drivel. From both teams.

Filewich has to pass out that ball after the rebound and then fouls a 3 point shooter 😶

Domask sitting out quite a bit in this first half.  I LOVE seeing D'Amico bring the ball up.  To me, that is where he can use his biggest assets (Ball handling, court vision, etc)

Hey look.  Go inside and we score.  Stop throwing up the 3s every time down the court.

D'Avanzo is pretty good, too.

D'Avanzo should clearly be ahead of Filewich in the rotation and nobody should see that as a failure. Kyler has plenty to learn, and D'Avanzo is a super senior who is way more polished. Kyler has plenty of runway left to get better.

SIU 32

Southern Miss 23

Halftime

Verplancken leads SIU with 10 points.  Marcus Domask with 0 points but 4 assists.  Troy D'Amico with 4 steals, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 points off the bench.  Salukis shoot 33% but are up 9, have to feel good about that.

Up 9 at the half and Domask with a goose egg? Wouldn't have thunk that.

Verplancken, D'Avanzo, Coupet, D'Amico have stepped up.  This team needs to learn to not rely on Jones/Domask.  Can't have those two playing 38 or so minutes a game and expect to be fresh in Valley play.  Getting Brown back will help a little too.

Very nice half by DAvanzo. He's the one big guy we have who can score some. Coupet playing tonight. Like DAmico's maturity. Verp showing up tonight. We're up 9 and Domask and Jones haven't done much.

SIU with only 5 TO's but created 11 TO's.   If the offense can step it up here in the 2nd half, I think they can build some confidence.   What I do like about Mullins right now is that he is playing the hot players more often and therefore not doing to over switching that we seemed to see earlier in the season.
