Barry is all about Barry. Reaching out for pity to the very end. In one month Mullins has a better recruiting class than Barry ever had. The man just needs to go away

I've only read half of it, and I'm already pissed off. (expletive deleted)
And just realized the article is from March 20. It's a good piece.
Still, Hinson should have been gone in the spring of 2018.
The fact that Captain Barry could not lead this group of talent to even the NIT is just absurd. I was pretty sure they would at least get to the NIT before this season and that we'd be stuck with Barry for several more years.
Thankfully, Hinson was even worse than I originally thought.

Nope SIU could have made the sweet 16 this year and it was still his last year. This is all about Pity for a POS politician. That is all there is to it. Not to mention nobody on any message board ever said Barry was fired until after the fact.

Fair enough. I just don't trust the people making (or who used to make the decisions) to do the right thing.
Barkeep, I thought you were wanting people to stop mentioning Barry's name. Why are we rehashing an article that was discussed on here almost two months ago? lol

This is the part that pisses me off the most about the article.
“The one thing that finally got us was the letter, and we just couldn’t overcome it,” Hinson said. “It divided our campus, it divided our alumni, it divided our booster base, and that’s the worst thing you could ever want as a head coach.”
Barry is an average coach, he wins games, but not big ones, he recruits good kids, just not the biggest and fastest.
His talents are lacking in a few areas, largely being able to close out a close game, how many games at SIU did he loose by 5 points or less? Also he does not have the motivation ability to get 120% out of players when he needs it (Bruce Weber, Matt Painter)
My bet is he would have an awesome career at a good D2 school or community Juco, his positive up beat personality makes him a very like able person.
Hinson was headed to the door all season long, this was clear when during more than one game Kill migrated to the seat next to Mike Reis and talked to Hinson during the game.

JUCO maybe. If kids have to deal with his act for more than two years max, it's played out. Also, as proficient as he was at losing close games, he was equally 'talented' at getting taken to the wood shed.
--Insert something witty here--
He said later that he never promised anything to any school official, that the conversation never happened and he basically just quit on impulse.

BBQ went Clinton on us? off the only person that could answer the real answer.
This mid major rag makes Heff look good by comparison. A "letter" divided the fan base....really? Our former "Job" coach, suffering through 38 seasons of wandering in the NCAA-less wilderness, will now emerge to do what?
He almost always made me ill...
Now, I don't care what he does, just leave us alone please.
March on triumphantly!

I do want it to stop. I just saw this fluffy full of lies piece and had to.
