Ebube with 3 dunks in this one.  Instant energy off the bench, no idea why he gets DNP most nights.

Lucky win.  Gave UIC 18 points off our 21 turnovers.  UIC took 23 more shots than us.  We play like this against Drake or Bradley, we get beat by 30.

Only bright spot was Scotty Ebube in his 6 or 7 minutes of PT.

It’ll be interesting to see how Lance is viewed around the league when it comes to postseason voting. Many on here were agitated about him not making all-conference last year. I think he’ll make second or third team this year but I can see how there would be wide differences of opinion on his season. This year it’s been less about turnovers (though he had a rough night with those tonight) and more about the high-volume, low-efficiency shooting. He plays great D, though.

I mean Domask had 24/5/6 so maybe two bright spots, but yes to everything else!

i don't understand the tie-breaker for 1st place going to Drake currently. We've all 3 played each other 1 x each and we're all 1-1 against each other. What gives Drake the edge? #confusedinSTL - thanks for whomever can answer this question.

Seems like Brown and Banks have flip-flopped minutes in recent games, with Brown getting 10-15 min and Banks only a few. Dalton has struggled lately.

I prefer the bigger lineups with Domask and D’Amico both out there with a big or some minutes for Wonders, but the latter appears to be a pipe dream at this point.

This was disgusting. But hey, we’re 11-4 and still tied for first. On a bright spot, we’ve wasted 2 of our complete shit games at home against the worst two teams and came out 2-0 in them.

Also a mind blowing stat. UIC had 23 more shots than us because of all of the turnovers and we still won.

I think we will show up ready for Drake. It’ll be a new day and they know they need to be better.

Actually, those standings don't reflect the tie breaker correctly. If the season ended today Bradley would be 1st, Drake would be 2nd and we would be 3rd. Since all three teams are 1-1 in the round robin it would go to the next tiebreaker which is the NET ranking. Bradley has the best NET, followed by Drake, then us.

Here is the tiebreaker info on the mvc website:

Fun fact - Scottie Ebube has 32 points and 16 rebounds in 33 total minutes this year. Marcus averages 35.3 minutes per game. Lets get Scottie on the tread mill and stationary bike so he can play more minutes!

There's a tiebreaker after head to head though (or record vs the top 3 teams).  I just don't want to hurt my brain trying to figure it out.

SIU will be boned in any NET tiebreaker though because of games like this.  They would even lose a NET tiebreaker to Indiana State right now if that mattered.

@salukiworld

Yes, the NET, as I understand it, rewards teams for winning games by 10+ pts, something this team does very rarely.  It also punishes teams for getting beat by 10+pts, which is why I'm very nervous about the Drake game.
