There was an interesting postgame radio interview last night with Reis/Starrick and Domask, in which they talked about Domask's disciplined shot selection and how he hardly ever forces bad shots. In general, that's terrific, although there's always a fine line for great players about taking what the defense gives you but also finding a way to score and impact the game even when the defense focuses heavily on you.
I'm looking forward to Domask being surrounded by more quality scoring options in future seasons so the Salukis are better equipped to put more stress on opponents' defense and make them pay for devoting too much attention to Domask.
Gonna be really fun when Ben Harvey is eligible to play next season. It’s gonna be a matchup nightmare for opposing teams when the Salukis have two 6’5+ guys that can shoot.
Nice win Salukis!
Love this team, except for sloppy turnovers (mostly attributable to young players, I know).
Another glass of Kool-Aide please.
March on triumphantly!

I was thinking about that same scenario. I think we have a future starting point guard coming next season. Just need a serviceable Big Guy.
Harvey and Domask will certainly stretch the floor and the defense next year. It will be interesting to see if Cook is around needing to possibly medical redshirt this year. Having Cook would allow time for Jones and Banks to further develop. Definitely need some more big men help. Davis is developing but he is not in my mind a back to basket post nor is the raw Dembele who I think can develop into being quite serviceable, but we need a shot altering, rebounding, with some low post office guy for the future. I also think Brown as he develops and gains confidence will also further stretch the floor (he has a sweet shot and release that hasn't fully shown itself yet). Much to be excited about especially as this team develops its defensive persona again.
Is Gooch still on the team or is he injured?

At this point I think it would benefit the program to have Cook redshirt. This team led by a senior point guard next year after Brown and Lance have had the experience of this year could be special. Also, it would give Mullins a chance to at least think about redshirting one of the incoming freshmen guards.
Next year with Cook looks like a valley contender IF they can add a starting caliber big.
You can all show your love for Harvey, but just remember I had the first man crush on him. LOL

Again, we can't just decide to redshirt Cook because we want him back next year. He has to be medically unable to play and the NCAA must review and rule on the case. As I understand it, he has been cleared to play medically. I don't know how that plays in to the NCAA regs on this.

The way I understood the rule was if a medical event forces a player to miss a significant amount of game time and the player does not return or exceed the max allotted games played, then 99% of the time that player will be granted a medical redshirt. If one doctor clears the player to be able to play, it doesn't much matter. For formalities sake, the player can see another doc for a second opinion, express that the injury has been causing nagging discomfort etc. and the doctor will concur.
This is basically how it was 12/13 years ago. Of course, things may have changed since then.

Didn't Nate Funk play at least a few games each year over 6 seasons? How hurt could he have been?

From Hefferman today:
Under NCAA rules, Cook would have a case to redshirt this season and try to come back for a fifth year in 2020-21. He would have to wait until after the season to be approved for a fifth year, and it's not a guarantee that he would get it.
