Shooting well always make you look better but still playing well defensively and rebounding and those 2 things always make you competitive
Haven't been able to watch but very happy to see 20 assists
20 assists tonight, 8 by Domask and 6 by Jones
This game proves that to be good a team has to be good at the 1 and 5. We need a 1 that can average 12 assists, 10 points, and only 2 turnovers a game. And a 5 that can keep the other team out of the paint with their D and average 10 points, 13 rebounds and 3 blocked shots a game.
I'm not sayin' -- I'm just sayin'!

Lol good luck with that
SIU 77
Valpo 55
Final
Jones with 22 points, 7 assists.

12 assists a game with a 6-1 assist to turnover ?
sorry those kids go to Kentucky
Filewich with 12 points, 8 rebounds off the bench. Mulia with 11 points, 7 rebounds.
Valpo missed Kithier and Anderson bad, not really a good team even with them.
I know it’s somewhat a product of playing Valpo and all shots were falling tonight, but our offense looks much better to me when we don’t run so much through Domask and expect him to carry the load while dealing with the other teams best defender. If the matchup is favorable, I’m all for a Domask isolation and we did it successfully at times tonight, but doing it over and over against Uguak was frustrating to watch.
Great game tonight and let’s keep it going! Go Dawgs!
Much needed, to put it mildly. Southern is a different team when Jones is playing well. Valpo was dreadful.
Large week ahead now with Mo State (can they finally beat an MVC contender?) and at Illinois State (competition for a top-6 seed).

The national NCAA assists leader normally averages between 7.5 and 9 per game. Ja Morant led the nation with 10+. The record was Avery Johnson at 13+. Both NBA players.
I agree - we need a future NBAer at point guard!

A great performance. All we need is a win over the poorly coached Missouri State Bears and we are back, baby.
Curious how many people attended this game. Which is hard to find out because all they count are tickets sold, I guess by design.

Looked pretty empty today, even the Dawg Pound which has been full seemed light. Guessing people stayed home to watch football, was barely paying attention myself.
